HatVol hits the Big Time...

Oh, Hat I wasn't trying to argue with you, I was just seeing how you came up with your assessment of who was better. I'm not trying to say Pearl is better or anything. I mean I have seen things that Pearl does better, and I've also seen things that Cal is better at than Pearl is.

Actually there is no "written proof" showing that Coach Cal has ever had a final four appereance. With both being vacated, he has just as many as Pearl does.
There's no "written proof" the Fab Five ever played at Michigan. Try passing off that they never existed.

This thread is proof that most people can't follow a coherent argument if it happens to contradict their own biases. That being said, if they were able there would be about one-third the total number of posts on this board.

The ethical standard was set by CBP twenty years ago when he turned in another program, neither Hat nor anyone else on this board is holding him to some standard of their own. If you want to be ethics man in recruiting and talk about it in every interview you give subsequently you had better be willing to live up to your own standards or be pilloried when you break the rules and then lie to investigators.

The failed Kiffin experiment is the primary reason that NCAA sent the dogs into Knoxville. The LK hire not only set back our FB program for years, IMO it is also the genisus of the investigation, and whatever sanctions the Vols receive will be direct result of the horrible mistake by Hammy.

Oh, mama.

If you added 55 points to it, your IQ would be 75.

lulz...

This is why I read when Hat's posting. It's just a matter of time before he lays out a zinger like this one.

He's also All Vol... just a bit quicker a spotting the problems than the rest of us.

Here's what I got out of this thread after I came back...some posters on VolNation have an affinity to use emoticons excessively.

Spotting problems that are obvious and then making each one seem like Armageddon is not difficult. Every program has issues; some just haven't been discovered.

I forgot about those guys. Then of course there was Volkswagen.

I'm trying out a new, more tactful approach.

Please no, it ain't you, and I wager you cannot refrain from relapsing into the hat we have come to love/hate/respect/revile (those reading pick their emotion).

I know I come to this thread after most of the posters have most likely moved on to the next hot topic, but I will throw out my two cents worth, (wonder how long before someone uses that against me?)

I don't agree with hat all the time, but I enjoy his posts damned near all the time. Without him I dare say I would not stay on VN. It has become so dumbed down as evidenced quite well in this thread.

I admit to bias, I have met hat, communicated outside of VN, and I know him to be a stand up guy. I'll not provide details, but he went out of his way in my behalf unsolicited. I apologize hat if this is out of line.

If you state your honest opinion, as hat does, and your opinion is based on facts and inside knowledge of the UT program as his is, you are not a NegaVol. You are simply an InformedVol, not allowing your love of UT to cloud your judgment. Oh in case anyone has any thoughts of him being Small Mike, absolutely not.

To accuse me of not being a UT fan because I feel this way is ludicrous.

Yeah, but are you a true fan, that's the question.

Attended first football game in 1959, went to school there, have attended at least one game every year since 1959. Family has had season tickets since 1967. Live and die with every game. Have at least $3000 worth of memorabilia, apparel, limited edition prints. Plan my Saturdays during football season around UT games. Hate Bama and Gators. Still get chills when the band starts the pregame show, and when the team runs through the T.

You tell me.

That sounds pretty true...

Coach cal is a better recruiter than anybody in the biz...I understand that is a big part of being a good college head coach, but if he and Pearl switched rosters the last 5 yrs, UT would have a couple championships and cal wouldn't have sniffed an Elite 8. Cal would be nowhere if he had an ounce of ethics...that's his game.
