HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Read the book on a suggestion from a friend. Will never take their suggestion again. Juvenile writing combined with a trite and predictable plotline. Disappointed in HBO for picking this up.

Sounds like a high budget flop. They should have rushed a few more seasons of Boardwalk out instead.

Side point. Did you know that song is actually pronounced jir-make-er? As in a British slur if Jamaica. I heard an interview with LZ back in college and they all laughed at the Americans who called it die-r-maker. Move along

It was a decent episode i thought. Some really good tense moments, but I never ever thought id have to worry about plot armor with GoT. So many main characters were literally swarmed 10v1 and screaming for their lives then they cut the shot and somehow they all make it out alive. Thats the stuff I expect from super hero movies, not this.

Also why tf do you send in all your dothraki to die and then not protect your artillery? Finally 8 years of the Night King and we still dont know who he is or what he wants and then in a snap of a finger he dies without any real information given. Hope bran tells us more the next episode

Don't expect too much from D&D

You literally got your answer of what the Night King wanted last episode. Who he is we may find out or maybe it's better left as a mystery. We will see. Plot armor aside maybe for some(some people have to live for the last 3 episodes after all lol) at this point 7 (maybe 8. Ghost whereabouts are unkown. ) named characters died in one episode, that's a lot. Theon and Jorah have been main characters since season 1. Tough ones for me.

I only have 2 minor nitpicks to be honest. None of the white walkers really were fighting and the lack of Ghost.

Sending the Dothraki enmasse against an uncertain enemy was beyond stupid. Sending a dire wolf with them without any dragon glass accouterments doubly so. Docked the architect of the battle plan, the writers and producers and the key grip/boom mic big for that fail.

Ghost made it, he is in the teaser for next week.

Thought this was an excellent episode overall. As with any movie with an large battle sequence like this (LoTR, 300, Kingdom of Heaven, Star Wars, etc) you can quibble with the tactics and the plot armor for certain characters that in one scene are definitely about to die and then next shot are fine but its really just a pointless endeavor. Overall, it really delivered the goods imo. This was every bit the spectacle of a feature length movie with really solid character moments for most named characters and good deaths for some of them. People who think that not enough of them died...there are still 3 more episodes and more massive battles to come. I'm sure you will get your wish.

That was my biggest issue with the tactics of the battle tbh. That and not leaving Ghost with Bran in the Godswood Their shock and awe tactic of screaming and charging into formations is rendered totally useless by an undead army.

Also, what were they planning on doing anyway if Melisandra hadn't shown up and lit their weapons on fire? They didn't have any Dragonglass or Valyrian steel weapons that I saw.

Also lot of prebattle building and hammering for very little booby traps. Moat of fire? That’ll do her.
