HBO's "Game of Thrones"

eh. how many powerful women have been killed off? Catlyn Stark and Lady Tyrell? the women in the show have done the most growing, and have been, or have become in some cases, the most cunning characters in the show.

You named the biggest two. A case could be made for Ellaria Sand, Shae, Talisa Stark and Queen Margaery as being powerful female characters with wide ranging influence that have been killed off or written out. Don't forget Ygritte as the one that started making Jon Snow question his beliefs in the Night's Watch. And lest we forget the most recent death in Melisandre. She had broad reaching implications on nearly all the characters.

There have been just as many substantial female characters killed off as males.

Theon has had one of the most dynamic roles in the story. He's been loved, hated, pitied, confusing, confused, weak, brave, and -- finally -- redeemed. How could anyone complain about the writing of his character?

Honestly he's had the best Arc on the show, don't care what anyone says. Lol

Yea, the Stark children are all pretty special (except for Rickon, he kinda got screwed in all this). Makes me interested to see what's in story for Sansa. Arya became a skilled fighter and killed the NK. Not sure where else she can go from there. Jon, even though he turned out not to be one of Ned Stark's kids, has the most rightful claim to be the Targaryan heir to the iron throne. And Bran of course became the 3 eyed raven and can see throughout current time and history. Even Robb became King in the North for a while and waged a good war against the Lannisters till he screwed that up.

Sansa? Her story has been one surrounded by suffering, politics and strategy. I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes from here.

Would have to say the Lannister children are all pretty special too; Cersei is ruling the 7 Kingdoms; Jaime one of the great warriors of the world and Tyrion one of the smartest (except where it comes to trusting Cersei) advisors in the world.

that's fair.

My prediction: fight, fight, fight; Jon is left and becomes rightful King. He orders the pyromancers to begin restocking the wildfire stores then we see a split screen where he is dressed and looks just like the Mad King. A smirk appears on his face. THE END!

Absolutely. Tyrion though is the one I think made the most significant jump. Jaime and Cersei already had some stature when we first were saw their characters. Tyrion? I think he said it best himself to Jaime a couple episodes ago. He was a whoremonger. Little was expected of him.

I'm wondering if they might be trying to foreshadow something with his conversion with Sansa in the crypt. When he was griping about not being involved in the battle and he might see something others don't, and she shut him down saying we can't do anything. During the battle they can't. It just stood out to me that she made that comment. The people that can fight are fighting. They people that can't are trying to live so they can do what they do best. Two of the 3 biggest thinkers/schemers/advisors I'll call them are in the crypt. Tyrion and Varys. Baelish is dead. Sansa has learned from Cersei and Baelish, and could probably match Tyrion or Varys in that area if she wanted to.

I also think for a second that she considered the possibility of getting back into the marriage with Tyrion. His comment about they should have stayed married was a joke. It's what he does. I think she considered it right then and came up with a thoughtful reason of why it wouldn't work. Not because she didn't like him, trust him, ect. It was he would have dual loyalties. I think she actually does like him now. She's defended him to pretty much everyone whenever his name comes up.

they way you were talking about her being the only one with the skill set........that had nothing to do with it. Arya made the decision on her own....no one even knows who killed the NK, except her and Bran. if you didn't intend that, then i just read it wrong...just how i took your comments on it. no effing biggie............lol.

and, eh, the NK wasn't worried about Jon at all. i think he recognized that he was important to the living, but i never got the impression in any of the episodes they were featured in, that the NK has it out for him individually, or that he was worried about facing him..... let the peasants and my pet deal with him...i'm going after the 3 eyed raven....my real objective.

and settle down lol.

The NK absolutely saw Jon as a threat. During the Battle for Winterfell, the NK purposefully distracted Jon (and Dany) away from the battle on his dragon. Jon and the NK kept fighting after that. The only time the NK used his powers to turn the dead was to prevent Jon from attacking him. After that, the NK went to the Godswood and had Viserion prevent Jon from protecting Bran. The fact the NK used his "peasants and pet" to "deal" with Jon shows that the NK feared facing Jon in a 1v1 situation.

I think the entire episode the NK was planning on distracting/preventing Jon from fighting him one on one.

I will say, the timing of this GOT season fits in perfectly with driest spell in the sports year calendar. By the time they wrap it up, the football mags should be out, and the rest of our freshmen should starting to arrive on campus. 😁

well, say what you mean then?

based on this post, none of what you said after is "obvious"....there's nothing in here about god's intentions or fate etc..... your reasoning here is based only on 2 things....Jon's unavailability to do it, and Arya's skill set. you left a lot up to interpretation, so i commented on it. there's no mystery there. chatsworth interpreted another way....

that's it. if you want to make a point, make it. don't get up on that high horse and talk about how everyone else has a problem because they can't read your mind......
I did say what I meant, you were just too dense to get it.

Look...I don't want to argue with you anymore, we both liked it, so nevermind.
