HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Doubt D&D will ever admit that. But it does show they directly deserve the blame. I wish HBO could have found someone to take over that was just as passionate as D&D originally were, and that met GRRM's approval. It's sad that one of the greatest shows ever has suffered because the show runners got bored and wanted to move on. Idiots.
This. The budget was/is there. Find someone who's passionate about the show and not the next job. Wasted opportunity

I don't have the hate for the last 2 seasons some do. But it's pretty clear that season 7 and 8 have suffered from the shortened runs. I think they could have followed the same basic path over 2 full length seasons and produced a significantly superior product. Trying to tie up so many plotlines in so few episodes is pretty much impossible, without a drop off in quality. GRRM seems to be having trouble doing it as well.

I don't hate the last 2 seasons, just disappointed. It could have been handled better.

HBO gets some blame. Reports have been out stating they want GoT over with and they wanna be more like the streaming services. Time will tell

Very much so. I am curious how much the actor's/HBO's desire to move on caused it though. Perhaps the choice was this or try to finish the show without some main characters and change the ending. You would think D&D would try their best to get it right, given that they stood to take the blame.

If the final episode is anything close to what I just read that was leaked....yeesh...not gonna be good.
Told you guys...and I hope that it is true. Errybody is gonna be ticked..except for a few die hard apologists and people that just don't really give a crap about good storytelling.

I thought a couple of weeks that maybe the leaks had some deliberate misdirection, but so far they have been in the money. I do think that the final ending may work out differently because they reportedly filmed several different endings, and maybe the leaker got the wrong one. I hope not at this point.

From the looks of things it wasn't HBO. It strictly falls on D&D from everything I've seen (obviously I'm sure there's some spin on things at this point).
