HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Well....this season was a huge let down. JS doesn't sit on the iron throne or defeat the NK.....why was he brought back to life again?

I do believe they did a good job of capturing the moment of Danys death. It aligned with her visions. But after that scene it went down hill fast.

The only beef I have is that they could have easily filled a couple more episodes. The transition from Jon killing Dany to all of remaining 7K leaders being there was much too abrupt. Likewise the choosing of a king was far too rushed.

OTOH - I don't doubt that GRRM had Dany going nuts (the entire thing has led to it), Jon killing Dany and Bran ultimately become king. So I don't blame the show writers for the core storyline. Just wish HBO had given the typical 8 to 10 episodes to finish it out.

Why were all the wildlings (and Tormund) just hanging out waiting for Jon?

...and where were they supposed to be going?

He added to it but if you go back and watch from Season 1 she's got the destiny disease
Watched every episode and read every book. I guess I'm a little let down after HBO and the directors can screw up a great series that had the first 4 seasons written out for them. If the books ever get done I doubt they'll go in the direction the show went.

Well at least it gives a little validity to the strategy of protecting him during the long night...
It was a literal 🖕to the fans...
This final season was awful and I tried my best to give it the benefit of the the doubt. I defended it till I saw this final episode. They gave us awesome until Dany and Jon's scene and then they just put a foot up our asses. Oh well, at least I was smart enough to wait till recently to even start watching this show. It was nice for 6 seasons.

Do you think GRRM wasn't going to have Dany go power mad?

Eh. I didn't take it personally lol.

Could have been done better. But don't have an issue with the resolutions we got.

I’m kind of enjoying the wrap-up scenes. They’re very tongue-in-cheek.

—the exception of Brienne updating Jaime’s entry in the book. That was lovely and true.

But otherwise the very 21st century discussion is great.

Why is everyone so salty about Bran being the one to sit on the throne?
Don’t know...perfect choice. Unbound by personal ambition or family obligations. He himself his own intelligence network. And the system for his eventual successor set for the generations afterward. Subtly clever for them laughing at Samwell’s hint at democracy and Sansa clowning Uncle Edmure doing his own Brady Hoke impersonation. 😏
