Best explanation right there

This is one reason I disliked Jon in the show becoming Aegon...I mean in the books we have a different person that Tyrion is with who is supposed to be Aegon.

I think the conflict between Jon & Dany could have played out without him being Aegon. Felt like you only make him Aegon if you legit plan to make him King. Oh well, great start to the series...started to fade in the late game.

These last 2 episodes I don't care to watch twice. First 20 minutes was just different people walking in the street. Slow. I was glad it did't last 2 hours. Can't believe it took 2 years to come up with that ending. Really wanted to see one of the sisters put the knife to Cerse and watch her expire last week.

Time to rewatch.

For those who think the start was boring, it’s building up the dramatic tension.

You have to have the quiet to make the noisy be alive.

Parts I liked:
-Jon has to do his "duty" and kill Dany (very Ned stark like, and very much what I expected)
-Jon getting to pet Ghost again
-Brienne writing the story of Jaime
-Sansa & the North going rogue

Kind of it honestly, they seemed to have no use for Arya after she stuck the NK. They reintroduced other "kingdoms" at the end who had all but ghosted the last two major wars. Tried to get cute with their "let everyone vote bit" which was just stupidity.

One tweak I would have made with Dany/Jon situation. I would have forced more conflict there, why not have Drogon try to kill Jon and Arya spear him? I'm guessing they didn't want to end on a battle/fight so they tried to "wrap it all up" and essentially give all the Starks their shine. Felt I guess directionless...

I think what made her go over the edge was the idea that she might not be the rightful heir to the throne. Like Tyrion said, Jon wasn't going to be living long with that hanging over their heads.

One thing I don't really understand, when the council is gathered and faced with choosing a king, why didn't Sam suggest his "best friend" the rightful heir to the throne? I doubt Grey Worm would have went along, but it seemed out of character for Sam, IMO.
Because he knew Jon didn't want the job?
