AtlantaVol that was an incredible gesture. Thank you so much. Thank YOU To ALL Of VN.

Volunteers are the greatest people on earth

All the best OB.
Donations were matched. Should that little girl need any more help don't be afraid to let me know....

You're a good man, sir. My wife and I have made a commitment to pay it forward in the future, as often as we are able.

Any update on the tests this morning? Are y'all staying at vandy?

Just left, thank God. Her echo results were ok, we're coming back for sedated echo in a couple of weeks to get more conclusive results. The gradient of her aorta topped out higher than her post-cath but the mean would likley be closer to that number. The sedated echo will yield more accurate results.

All in all, we're going home...so not a bad day.

why wouldn't they just do an echo under sedation from the get go? Doesn't make sense to me, if they know the results are more accurate. glad to hear the results were good enough that you got to go back home with her.

I suppose because it's more invasive and not a first-line option, kind of like prescribing a Lortab for a headache I guess...

Volatil or some of the other medical Vols might be able to explain it better.

Could be several reasons why they chose non sedation first.

Sedation can cause hypotension and nausea. Are they still concerned about her straining as in vomiting? I know she had pressure issues with her recent episode. The doc might not feel comfortable with sedation at this point. Cautious is not a bad thing IMO.

Vomiting hasn't really been an issue but BP has. I'm all for being cautious...

It's people like you, sir, who restore my faith in humanity. There are truly some good people in this world. Glad to be a member of some fine people called Volnation. :hi:

Thanks again, VN. I'm really over 2015 but, with all the bad, a lot of good has come with it.

My mother-in-law's wreck could have been much worse, as she was hit head-on but, thankfully, she's home and doing well, aside from being sore.

Ashlee's condition could be as bad as it could possibly be but, thankfully, we got her to the hospital just in time (on two occasions) and she's doing well.

Hopefully today's echo is good news. I don't think I can handle more bad news but, if it is...we'll just roll with it like we always have.

Thanks again for everything. Words cannot express how much this means to me and my family.

Now, Nick...kill that friggin Cobra...ANY cobra...so all these injuries will stop! :)

GBO

I have literally been out looking in fields and around buildings for a sacrificial cobra. If I ever stop posting suddenly, you will know I found a cobra, but IT was not the one sacrificed. :eek:hmy:

LOL, stay frosty Nick and keep that head on a swivel. Last thing we need is to hear about a cobra getting the best of you!

GBO!

And should you decide you are ready for something like that...just let me know. If it is a game you and the wife woud like to enjoy...I got you covered. Should you just want to check into a nice hotel in Nashville for an evening...I got you covered. Just say the word.

Easily the best thing I've ever seen on this site. Kudos sir.

Bump because no need to type out the same exact comment all over again.
