Help a fellow VN member. "We love Ashlee"

My girls thank you all. They will be told about the generosity of so many--that we didn't even know--that reached out with prayers, love, and support and how much that helped our family through one of the hardest times we've ever experienced.

Ashlee has another echo next Friday which will likely tell us whether she needs another surgery or (prayerfully) another cath procedure.

All I ask is for prayers but thank you to all of you who donated...it has taken the financial burden from us in a way that we never expected.

Bless you all. Thank you all.

So unfortunately I can't match Atlanta Vol but have given this some thought. God has blessed me with a steady income so let's have some fun and give us one more reason to root for our Vols: I'll donate $75 for every win this season (and would like to challenge everyone that has a steady income to make a similar commitment within your own budget).
Hoping for that 12 win season.

Absolutely man.

She's doing well. She had her blood thinner medication discontinued this week after a good hematologist visit. The clot in her left leg is still there but doesn't pose a severe enough risk that it warranted the blood thinner any longer. Good news but, as with any change, good or bad, we worry what potential consequences exist.

Her last echocardiogram showed very slight improvement to her aorta. Her next one is next Friday. We'll also be discussing scheduling another balloon procedure through the cath lab. The pressure at the surgery site on her aorta is "acceptable" but not ideal, at this point. The cardiologist said it could take one, maybe two more to get it back to optimal.

That being said, she's a healthy baby girl. She's finally getting a little chubby, like a 5 month old should be. Her appetite is really good, which is definitely a positive sign, because lack of appetite is one of first warning signs of something bad going on.

Her favorite people in the world are her sisters. They love to entertain Ashlee and make her laugh at them. She's never without a smile on her face when her sisters are around. That said, she's pretty fond of mom and dad too. She's just a happy baby all around...unless you're a doctor. She doesn't like doctors. :)

Edit: OP, I just tried to click on the link and it didn't work for me - can we keep this campaign going until the end of the season?

Just woke up to feed Ashlee her nighttime bottle and realized I should have posted a photo.

Here she is, asleep beside her mama last week...

I have put my head in the sand these last few weeks.

It's tomorrow afternoon. I'll update when we hear back. Though, if it goes like last time, we may not hear anything until Monday or Tuesday.

Follow up appt with Ashlee's cardiologist went well. Her echo showed very little change in her aorta, with just a slight increase in pressure at the surgery site. MD said there are a few factors that will determine when her next procedure will be, so it's mainly a waiting game. The main factor is whether the site will grow as she continues to get bigger--which she is, she's a chubby baby now--or if it will remain at its current size as she grows.

Our next appointment isn't for 2 months...which is a little scary. We don't like going very long without knowing if her aorta is ok. However, she's doing well and eating like she has hollow legs.

Thanks for all who have joined us in praying for my baby girl, it's appreciated more than you'll ever know.

Awesome news OB. I would think that if the Dr's think she's good for two months she must be getting along pretty well. God is good!
