Cool. He's not a Fullback. It's actually okay if an NFL QB doesn't want to take a collision head on, since, you know, that's how they're coached. And still does not want to get hit. Look at the difference between his runs and Hooker's runs.
I think some of that is Hooker is wanting to make an impression. He lost all of last season and here he is in the first real on field action of his career. This is the NFL, take on defenders like HH did last night and you won't last long. See RG III after his hit by Witherspoon in game against Atlanta.
Sounds like a way to really shorten your NFL career as a QB to me, especially since they're the most protected players on the field. No need to be looking to make contact IMOOrrr ... HH was sending a message to opposing DBs: "I'm not afraid of you and you'd do well to remember that. I ain't some went behind the ears 21-year-old you can intimidate."
In other news, does the running back room for the Motor City Kitties suck, or what?
1 int and 4 sacks not looking real good for Sudfeld. If HH can get back on the field next week and keep playing consistently he will lock down QB2. I think Campbell wants it for him, but HH has to take control of it. If he misses both preseason games because of his concussion, he will probably be on practice squad as QB3. Heinicke looks like he is on the way out in Atlanta, he might be an option for the Lions.Looks like HH was the #2 passer and the #1 rusher for the Lions last night. Pretty darn good stats for second season backup QB! (notice no INTs or Sacks)

I'm sure the DB, LB's will welcome that type of play from opposing QB's in the leagueOrrr ... HH was sending a message to opposing DBs: "I'm not afraid of you and you'd do well to remember that. I ain't some went behind the ears 21-year-old you can intimidate."

Goff has QB 1 locked down in Detriot, Hendon is competing for QB 2.1 int and 4 sacks not looking real good for Sudfeld. Ya sound like a Detroit fan/realist.I think some of that is Hooker is wanting to make an impression. He lost all of last season and here he is in the first real on field action of his career.
Now to your point the coaches are going to come around and be something like "Look kid, love the heart, love the toughness but staying on the field and taking unnecessary punishment have an inverse relationship.". I REALLY hope his concussion thing turns out ok. He's already behind due to injury from last year and can ill afford to lose significant snaps in preseason. If he can't get the reps to show the staff he's ready in an emergency and considering Sudfeld's poor showing the Lions are going to have to start at least considering looking for somebody already established like Tannehill or Bridgewater.
I guess I'm not technically a "fan" as that's the Titans. (TN and all that) However if not the Titans the Lions have been down for so long and I just plain like Dan Campbell so I find them pretty easy to follow. I'd really like Hooker to succeed not only just because he's a VFL but anything that looks good on him looks good on our current coaching staff regarding recruits. Milton is the same way though showing the Patriots any love is a tough ask. Having a VFL as their current coach could soften me up on that however. Actually of the two if Milton really impresses he's got an easier shot at making a splash as Goff is pretty well ensconced at QB1 for Detroit barring injury for the foreseeable future.Ya sound like a Detroit fan/realist.
It doesn’t if that was intended as a real question. The 3rd string leaves room for improvement but part of it was how bad Sudfeld played.Orrr ...
