Here Comes the Recession

So can we officially label the Democratic Party the party of NO? They certainly seem to be playing if I can't have what I want, I'll take my ball, stomp my feet, blame somebody else, and go home. Their attitude pretty much defines legislative blackmail.

Normally I'd be inclined to agree when it comes to legislative trickery. But when you hijack emergency legislation to add crap that you couldn't get passed previously because it's simply not justifiable, that's deplorable.

then you haven't read what the other side is doing. Even Trump's business would be in line for an unregulated handout. Any money given should get them thru the crisis and nothing more. There are no checks to make that happen though

There certainly should be restrictions on how crisis money is handled ... unlike the way the dims did things in 2008. We shouldn't pretend that the dims learned and are working from experience ... they are simply being asses as usual. serveimage.jpg

Basically calling for a stimulus package unconstrained by traditional borrowing hurdles.

You mean hurdles like not having a SS# or bank account ? Yes it’s hard to get money from people without those two things .

If it's on the net, you can bet more than the intended users have access. Some places like Equifax either shouldn't be allowed to exist or their executives need to face jail time when they screw up. We are way to soft on that kind of crime - both on those who steal and those who don't have better security. It then is up to them to decide if the business is worth their potential loss of freedom.

I made that list. I signed up for free monitoring and have not heard a word. I am currently paying $25 month for it.

It's probably impossible to have perfect security - not naive about that, but if there's no personal accountability by people at the top then security will always take a back seat to profit. If there's personal responsibility, then people at the top may decide the risk of keeping databases maybe isn't worth it. There's no way you or I can know who has our information in a database; and when we do, we are virtually held hostage - either agree to their terms or ...

Almost like government positions. No accountability.
It is so rich with irony that the very people that provide credit ratings were hacked and now my credit is subject to these actions. I signed up one the CAL back about 6 months ago and not a peep or response.

That kind of crap is why I have all the credit “reporting” agencies frozen going on 8 years now. Good luck to anyone trying to use my info to acquire credit or open accounts that require a credit check🤣

At some point the government is going to actually have to think about suspending mortgages and rent or this will happen.

I could see if it's your primary residence but not your 30th. We all should understand by now that investments can lose money.

Unless they'll give me back my 401k losses then we can talk

It's the ripple effects this has on the market that are significant.
