Atlanta is fine with it you are correct, so is South Beach, Los Angeles or any large northern city.

Go to Gatlinburg, Halls, Nashville, Panama City, Maynardville, Sneedville, Rutledge or numerous other small southern towns and you better be ready for a fight.

Sorry did not mean to ramble but I do speak from 8 yrs experience.

Be a white man and go to the Bronx with a good looking female black woman and see what happens. This is all a bunch of bs. I worked in personnel in the military and certain folks were given additional points on tests toward promotions because of the color of their skin.

This race bs will never go away because there are racist in all races.

I promise you, there are areas of Boston, Philly, and numerous other large northern cities that would have a problem. IMO, Racism is bad and no place has the monopoly.

Just an FYI, long after southern schools were desegregated, northern cities were having race riots.

I can't help but think if some of the high profile black college coaching hires had fared better it would have helped.

Ah, the kid in the tale of the King's New Clothes. Nobody wants to come out and say if the results had been better with the big hires of black coaches maybe the rate of hiring black head coaches would have increased.

He didn't get the job because of his wife, its because he is black. The world is full of racist people who will always try to keep the black man "in his place". Its ok to be an assistant coach, but most will never get the chance to be the head coach.

What a utterly stupid point, are you savageorange in disguise?

Anyway, the fact of the matter is there is a huge discrepancy between the amount of black players that play the game in college and in the pros and the amount of black coaches who are in the HC position.

The law of averages just doesnt work in this situation so there is something there. People have to remember it took Bear Bryant to invite USC to come whip Bamas ass in the early 70's to show the local mullets that black kids can play football.

So while some of you are in denial and yes there is a lack of head coaches in all parts of the country the South and the SEC have a significant history as it pertains to black athletes and coaches!

Still think Charlie Strong and Turner Gill were better candidates than Chizik reguardless of race! I will say however that Charles Barkley is ridiculous, almost Al Sharpton ridiculous!

Of course I don't think Chizik was a better choice but I'm not gonna automatically assume everyone at Auburn is racist.
I would have hired Gill ten times over Chizik but it has zero to do with race with me and it's wrong to call AU racist when we have no idea why.
That is what people like Rev Al and Barkley thrive on.
