Voting for race is the only stupid reason I see here. The rest are valid points of contention between candidates.

Voting primarily on morals is silly as well. Wouldn't this country be better served if people voted based on economic, foreign, and social policy (in that order)? I mean, really, why does it matter if a candidate believes in evolution, or is pro-life? Doesn't his views on economic policy matter to each of us just a little more?

Ethnic identification drives a lot of the racial vote, same can't be said for the religious vote. Does that mean it is legitimate?

I couldn't agree more. Someone's stance on abortion doesn't give them the clairvoiance to handle an increasingly hostile situation in Iran, N Korea, China, etc as well as a crumbling economy.


Unless you're Pelosi, then I suppose it does.

Absolutely not. I want the POTUS to have at least a similar world view to my own. A Muslim does not have a similar world view to my own. It would be very hard for me to vote for a Muslim.

Morals play into economic policy.

If people would vote their belief system instead of selling out to the "pocketbook" many of the concerns that most people have would take care of themselves. How do you expect a person of no moral character to look out for your best interest?
