How can folks say Cain is an uncle Tom? He's his own man, if I've ever saw one. A credit to any race, and I don't even always agree with him.

He has my vote as of now. I love gingrich but he seems hopeless as a canditate.

While it doesn't have anything to do with his politics or ability to run a country, Cain's (and other's) use of "clever" re-wording of popular phrases or phrases of his opponent to cast his displeasure is incredibly annoying and stupid to me. In the speeches I have watched, he does it on almost every topic he talks about. It is really hard for me to get beyond that and actually try to dig what the guy is saying.

I will also add, though, that I find the comments of Uncle Cain to be incredibly stupid and offensive. I just can't believe people are trying that approach....

I just watched his latest interview on fox. He was grilled. He will have to sharpen his responses on several issues. Although I understand his approach on afghanistan the American people will not. He will have to dump that. He did not know what the right of return was which originally it was a Jewish term so I get it. The Arabs have recently began using it to attempt to bring more Arabs in. He clearly did not know the issue and side stepped it.

I found his spending plan confusing. He said this what we should do and then said no we cannot do it now. I hope everyone is ready for 4 more years of the Terrorist in office.

I can't believe you call him the terrorist. I'm surprised you don't like Cain more with your fun names and labels.

Funny how anyone that makes any sense gets labeled. This country is being run by a bunch of loonies that belong in straight jackets. They should throw most of the liberal azz media in there with them. They're not interested in fixing anything and if you have good ideas they'll label you a Uncle Cain. What a crock of sheet.

I like his policy ideas; however, I do not like his theatrics. Every time I watch him, I am waiting for him to give the "People's Eyebrow" and then ask if everyone smells what the Rock is cookin'.

He could never be the jabroni beating, pie eating, trail blazing, eye brow raising, the best in the present, future and past, and if ya'll don't like me you can kiss the people's a$$!
The Rock! :)

I am not sure why he even addresses the immigration issue, other than simple pandering. His experience and his strengths are economic and financial; he needs stay quiet on immigration and foreign policy, unless he actually has something intelligent and insightful to say in that regard.

If he campaigns purely on drilling in America and drastically revising the Federal Tax code, he has a strong shot with most Republicans and with a handful of centrist and moderate Democrats. Praising Arizona and stating that his foreign policy is "don't mess with us or Israel" will win Primary votes while costing him a great deal more general election votes, if he makes it that far.

Cain definitely has some foreign policy weaknesses. I was listening to his Fox News Sunday interview and noted the uncomfortable pause after Chris Wallace asked Cain about the Palestinian "right of return", after a gentle nudge, Cain said that that would have to be negotiated like everything else. I get the impression that Cain had no idea what "right of return" actually meant, so he winged it.

He gave a good answer on involvement in Afghanistan though.

[ ] Cain is a legitimate contender who has a real shot to win the GOP nomination

[X] The Republican POTUS field is so weak and boring this year that this guy is getting lots of attention which will quickly fade when its time to start counting actual primary votes

why do you care LG? Or have you decided to be undecided until the moment you step into the voting booth?

Like all of you, I know very little about the man.

My post is about all the love he's getting from the GOP and my theory is that its because he's shiny and new. Right now that is worth a lot in the Republican field.

People ITT already expressing concerns about an apparent lack of familiarity with foreign policy. But for now folks seem willing to set that aside because he's, as I say, shiny and new.

We'll see if that continues once he's on stage and the other GOP hopefuls have some opportunity to point out some of the holes in his resume. Right now he touts his inexperience as a plus. We'll see how long that holds.
