Heupel.......Please realize it's time to fire your buddy Halzle

3 yards behind him is in his hip pocket? Far more open than yhe guy on the sideline. That ball throw in front of the receiver and it is a TD.

Our receivers have a saying: if he is even, I am leaving.
I guess our eye balls just work differently because I see one guys foot on the 40 and the other guys foot on the 39. Assuming they’re pretty close to same spot on the field horizontally, that isn’t 3 yards. It’s 1 yard.

Actually kinda feel like Pope is the one who needs to go. Sure Nico hasn't been perfect, but I think most of the issues in the passing game can be attributed to our very talented and deep wide receiver room chronically under performing 2 years in a row. If you look at passing stats at popes previous stops it is not super impressive!

Heuple cannot keep on holding onto this STRICTLY VANILLA CALLING wannabe OC. This is unacceptable to all VOL fans and to the university. Do yourself a favor, give him whatever money is in his contract and go get a great OC. I posted earlier this week that it would come down who could call a better game..........and I was right. Bobo beat Halzle, and almost every other offensive , defensive coach. Our special teams were the only coaches that did their job tonight. You will never have a SEC championship , let alone any other championship until you get rid of him. To all Vol fans, until we realize this, and more importantly, Heupel realizes it, Tennessee will not win another championship with him as an OC.
I thought Heuple was making the calls, am I wrong?

If 167 yards passing and no TD’s is fine with you don’t complain about losing to the elite teams in the conference.

Teams like Georgia are going to give him the short passes but until he proves he can stretch the field this offense is going to sputter.
We also had very few possessions in the second half because the defense let Carson Beck pitch a tent on the field and host a slumber party.

This 12 personnel thing we have been trying does not work. We will never be able to just line up and score against teams like UGA without explosives. We need to get back to what we did in 2022 and get these WR streaking wide open down the field. We have to recruit players that can do that...ELITE Wrs, not just good ones.

I didn't say I think Halzle is calling plays, I said it's a possibility. You can shout to high heaven "it's so completely obvious" all you want, but that doesn't make it gospel truth.

Bottom line, none but those closest know what the real truth is. For fans to sit around and proclaim it's definitely this guy or that guy, like they're part of the staff, is just silly.
Heupel is calling all the plays. He’s said as much in press conferences. Of course he could be lying.

My armchair is just fine . i have been watching the Vols and college football for 65 years thank you. IT IS the play calling because it is too friggin predictable. Did any of you posters with any football experience see a WHEEL route? See a halfback screen with the offensive line letting the blitz go by so we could get 30 yards? Hell NO....we didn't see any of that. Yes, we are NOT a good road team as well. The VOLS football team is only as strong as it's weakest link ( if you don't understand that ask your MOM). The VOLS weakest link is Halzle. It is so obvious.
I agree that the play calling hasn’t been good this year, regardless of who is calling the plays, they are not working. The buck stops with Heupel as the head coach. If Hazle is calling the plays, I can’t imagine he would just sit back and let him call stupid plays without intervening unless he approves of or is endorsing the calls.

If it is confirmed that Heupel is calling the plays, the next question is WHY is he calling these plays? Has anyone in the press questioned him on why his play calling is so vanilla and predictable?

On the passing plays I can accept that Nico may be missing some reads and guys are really open, but I still don’t get running the ball right up the middle all the time on running plays, especially on long yardage situations.

QB's who can get them the deep ball. Nico's a frosh so I'm not worried. Hooker sucked bleep hole until he got here. Takes time for some
