Heupel.......Please realize it's time to fire your buddy Halzle

Yes. I said what I said. He's a bust so far. He's no true freshman. He's a red shirt. He's almost done with his 2nd year on the team. This kid was supposed to be game ready day 1. That's how good he was supposed to be. And let's not pretend that true, not redshirt, freshman can't come in and get it done. We've been beat by enough of them in the last 20 years to know that that is not true. He's not a third string QB walk on forced in due to injury. He's our first choice.
We don't need to sober up. You sunshine pumpers need to get real. We have a good team. But we are losing games because what should be the strongest part of our team is choking week in and week out.
You may want to go check how the other QBs in his class are doing. I think he is the only 1 in the top 10 that's actually starting. Maybe even top 20.

First ten games of career

Joe Burrow 9-1
Bryce Young 10-0
Jayden Daniels 5-4
Josh Allen 6-4
Justin Fields 9-1
Peyton 6-4
Nico 9-1

There are tons more examples of why your "bust" theory is stupid.

That's great. But those teams got those records on the backs of those quarterbacks. Our 9 and 1 record is not on the back of our quarterback. It's on the back of our entire defense, offensive line, and one running back. Nico has been a virtual non-factor in every game we've played against a quality opponent. You can try to put the dress on the pig all you want to but it's still a pig. Nico is unimpressive as hell. He is mediocre at best. And there's a good chance he ends up being the JG of CJH's career. He's not an accurate passer at short range or long range. When he scrambles, he is super unimpressive. And when he's under pressure, he makes bad decisions. He fumbles at the drop of a hat. Any hat. Your hat. My hat. Doesn't matter who's hat. He's going to drop the ball.

The RB you just hyped up fumbled 3 straight games in the red zone. He can't scramble because the OL can't stop holding. Nico is legit, you don't know football if you can't see it.

Golesh left and unfortunately Hendon Hooker and Hyatt ran out of eligibility concurrently. Nico is about 5 years younger than Hendon and I think will most likely improve considerably pretty soon. Let's not fire any of the staff this week for sure.

Please explain what your definition of crap calls. What plays are too predictable? I think Execution is a problem not the play calling. Maybe we are not a good road team. Who knows.
I hope your Arm Chair is comfortable.
My armchair is just fine . i have been watching the Vols and college football for 65 years thank you. IT IS the play calling because it is too friggin predictable. Did any of you posters with any football experience see a WHEEL route? See a halfback screen with the offensive line letting the blitz go by so we could get 30 yards? Hell NO....we didn't see any of that. Yes, we are NOT a good road team as well. The VOLS football team is only as strong as it's weakest link ( if you don't understand that ask your MOM). The VOLS weakest link is Halzle. It is so obvious.

There is no telling how many yards Dylan Sampson would have now if we would sometimes get him the ball outside the line of scrimmage as opposed to always running him into the line with hopes that he will get through a hole or gain yards on his own.
AMEN brother........someone with a brain here!!

As soon as they full game replay is posted, I will show you why we struggle this year compared to 2022. On the pass that was high and behind Squirrel, the left slot receiver had 4 or 5 steps 20 yards further downfield for a walk in TD. Nico doesn't see that yet and Hendon did. Hendon was a lot older and had far more experience.

We are handcuffed by a freshman QB, albeit a good one but not one who fully sees the whole field.
Bru was running open on 3 different difficult throws to Squirrel

Do people not realize we don’t beat Bama without Nico’s performance in the second half? He made crucial plays that half that directly impacted the outcome of the game. And none of them were easy to do.

I can’t disagree.

I don’t care what anyone says. The offense has changed since Golesh left.
One difference is that Hooker threw an accurate deep ball, Joe didn’t, and Nico hasn’t to this point. Also Nico is the definition of a one read quarterback, if his 1st read isn’t there he either freezes up or tries to run. I hope he gets better, but he’s been a bust so far.

It's probably time to just sit down

He may call the plays but the OC comes up with the game plan and presents him with the game plans. Also the last two years we have seen the same type of passes you talk about from two different qbs so that is qb development and that falls on our OC as he is our qb coach.
JM improved from the time he got here until the time he left. He had a ceiling. Nico is a freshman, and is still improving.

😂 I have a hard time believing people like this are actually real^^^ Are you trolling right now?

Idk what version of JM you were watching but he did not improve from the time he got here. He consistently was late on decisions and on throws. If it wasn’t for his fastballs he would have been even more behind on his throws. His deep balls had no air under them. I am starting to see the same thing from Nico. JM had potential it no coaching. Nico is improving some but it still doesn’t take away that the offensive scheme is atrocious.
