The “lost the team “ crowd are the same who were crying we would only win 7 if we were lucky.

every coach has a bad loss
It happens.

Exactly. Chicken littles no matter what. If we don’t go undefeated, they’re not happy…even though they don’t expect to have success before the season. It’s insane.

Watched it...CJH appeared to be in utter shock at the Vols play last night. They didn't appear to be ready from the start; however, 63-38 is quite an butt kicking to sustain.

I agree the schemes we tried didn’t work and the defense wasn't ready to play, but for the first time since CJH has been coaching here, this team, particularly the defense, quit. SC hit us in the mouth and we didn’t want any part of it. I’m not sure we wanted it even before they hit us in the mouth. And Hadden needs to grow a pair, cover and tackle someone, and shut his mouth.

I totally agree about Hadden, trash talking AFTER tackling a guy who just got a first down. Nothing done to trash talk about, you just let a guy get a first down.

Well your just freaking stupid.... Heupel understands x's and Os. If he didn't he couldn't scheme his offense the way he does.

LOL, all you have to do is watch last nights replay to know JH doesn't know SQUAT about defense BUD...........

Building one or scheming AGAINST one.

JH is a young coach and he'll learn (if he hasn't already) the importance of Defense in the SEC. Still a great season in my book. Think of where we've been the last 15 years and relish the good over the bad. We're still 9-2.

They went from feared to laughable at halftime, then made adjustments, and became a national joke by the end of the game. It will take years to get rid of the stench of this game. Sportscasters will mention it at the beginning of every game for years to come. It's really got to be up there with the worst defensive game every played in the SEC.

Oklahoma was #7 in team defense (actually #5 take W. Michigan and Toledo out of the picture) and #7 in team offense. That balance is why JH's Sooners won the NC in 2000.

Exactly, se he knows full well he needed a defense. It’s not an overnight thing unless they clean up in the portal, imo. Easily could and should be better than last night, but a long way from being where it needs to be, but not because he doesn’t think it’s important.

Lol your a total moron. He knows we dont have players back there. As far as scheming hes pretty ***** good at it. Every NCAA stat in the country will tell you he is among the Nations best if not the best in all of CFB. I hate losing but I hate it worse when you damn idiots come out of the woodwork

Name calling is such a mature attribute. We'll just agree to disagree on the current coaching abilities of our HC based on depth and talent level. I'll take the high road and just refused any attempts to match wits with the unarmed. Good day and welcome to ignore.

My absolute best case scenario was 9-3 to start the season.
I thought 7-5 is what would happen so I’m find myself with mixed emotions today

Dude, if you can’t see the difference between being upset after losing to a very good Georgia team and absolutely choking on our own vomit against South Freaking Carolina in blowout fashion, you need to recalibrate your expectations. I can take two loses against teams that we should struggle against. THIS is a different order of magnitude

I think a big part of it is that more and more people cannot stand being wrong. Instead of a mea culpa like "wow, I never expected us to be in this spot, I was way off", they lay in the weeds and come out after the Georgia loss ("way worse than the score") and this one ("I knew we weren't more than a 7-5 team, the future is bleak"). Trolls just have a warped way of gaining satisfaction.

Which is exactly how any rational fan should feel. The disappointment and hurt at what could have been will linger, but at some point the reality of a 10-2 season (after we beat Vandy) will sink in to all but trolls that thrive on being miserable and making sure as many others are as well.

The defensive staff has a lot responsibility for that fiasco.
BUT
The defensive players who cannot execute because the MLB is missing is beyond belief.
Even if there is controversy in the locker room, that is no reason to let down yourselves, not to mention each other.

They did not lay down on purpose to sabotage anything.
They laid down before the game began.
They deserve no mercy in practice this week or any practice going forward.
If this is going to be a championship program going forward in years to come, our players need to be like iron forged into steel. They will be weapons, like the players of Nick Saban and Kirby Smart. Not what we have seen. That is the difference between teams that win 6-9 games each season and Championship teams.
