Heupel Says Nico Good to Go in Current Presser

Honestly, whoever that guy is has a good point. Holding Nico is playing card helps rankings. But in reality, he doesn’t play.
Lets say he doesn't play and we keep the game within 5 or 6 points. Makes us 10-2. Nico plays last two games of the year and we hammer them. By last year logic of keeping FSU out because of QB loss--we should be the Cinderella of the 10-2 teams?

I have no idea if he’ll play but I didn’t see an injury that caused me to think he had a concussion. I did wonder about a left shoulder injury but he didn’t show any signs of that on the sideline.
Edit: just went back and watched. I think his head did hit the turf hard enough to cause a concussion.

Indeed, I would think so as well. My son got a concussion when he and his brother were jumping off their top bunk onto a bean bag chair. The 6 year old missed the bean bag and hit the floor. He was concussed - knocked out cold for about 10 seconds vomiting, couldn’t stay awake, etc- pediatrician said to go to ER.
Vanderbilt Children’s did a CT and before the scan they let us know they were very concerned it would be a brain bleed. If so, he would need to stay at least overnight.

Point is, a brain bleed is dangerous. If he’d had those kind of symptoms or they thought it was a bleed, he would have been taken to the hospital immediately. Highly doubt his parents would have even let him be on campus at all for a few days, much less dressing for football practice.

Parental Disclaimer: We did not know they were playing stuntman up in their room.
So did the 6 year old get to play in the big game that next weekend or not?????

Sara is going to call it: I don't think he plays. Hope I'm wrong.....GOVOLS!!!!
I always have been under the impression that like attracts like ... therefore, the report which will be released later today will say, Probable. Feeling strong .... and confident that he will be cleared to play on Saturday. Totally uninformed opinion (with absolutely NO inside information at all) ... but ... I was right on Monday that Nico would be listed on the Wednesday report .... and I did think about staying at a Holiday Inn last night. :^)))) Hope you are wrong, too. GBO!!!

I've thought this the whole time. Not that it's in Heupels mind, but Tenn is better off losing a close game with Gaston than Nico. I think Tenn can keep it close with him, enough at least the committee and everyone thinks it could've had a different outcome with nico.

I'd rather line up our best and go beat them. If we can't...oh well, making the CFP wouldn't do us any good anyway.

Remember it only takes about 10 seconds to teach a bulldog to sit. Source: see ending of 2016 game.

All I'm saying is everyone thinks going into the game with nico is bye-bye playoffs and actually I believe there's a better chance of making it with a loss than losing with nico, which is highly possible anyway.

I also think there's a legitimate case to be made that a 10-2 TN team who lost at GA without their starting QB would be better positioned for a playoff selection than a 10-2 TN team that lost at GA with Nico playing. Committee has made it pretty clear that all things considered, this weekend is a playoff elimination game. Nico not playing throws a wrench into the national narrative and provides an opening for us to slip in once he returns and the team is "healthy."

Bringing info doesn’t give someone license to act like a dick and that’s exactly what he was doing 🤷‍♂. Feels like he does it every few weeks.
The first amendment gives him the license I suppose. Especially when he sees an unbelievably, stupid take. Yeah, it's a bit dickish, but I am ok with it. Thick skin thing

Yeah. First amendment also lets others call him out when he’s acting particularly dickish though. There’s no need to run to his defense every time he’s arguing. Sometimes he’s wrong and not infrequently does he resort to being a dick when he’s wrong and doesn’t want to admit it.

In this thread he overstated something (probably initially as a bad joke that didn’t really land) and rather than walk it back he moved the goalposts and started personally attacking everyone. Very thin skin on that one.
