Wow, just wow. It's not "excusing immoral behavior" when I accuse someone of disobeying the Bible by cherry picking MY sins and holding me to their standards.

What cherry picking are you referring to? Stealing is immoral. Lying is immoral. Homosexuality is sinful according to the Bible. So is every other form of fornication... many all too common amongst Christians. Most sermons I have given or heard focused on the sins of the congregation/church rather than the world.

Hypocrisy. It is precisely judging by a contrived personal standard that is being addressed.... and that would include standards lower as well as higher than those found in scripture.

The context was NOT taking a stand and calling sin... sin. That is not only "allowed" but required. You cannot obey the command to preach repentance without agreeing with the Bible about what should be repented from.
