Hey Bammer Lurkers... REMEMBER THIS??

fade, I'm with you on this one.

People breaking out the Vaseline over a win 10 years ago against a 4-9 Bama team need to re-evaluate things....much less people with 17 year old young men as their avi.

Be with Fade all you want, but to say a single game in this series STILL doesn't get under the skin of fans of this rivalry is, like i mentioned before, stupid. This has always been the game of the year and always will be the game of the year for me.

I'm willing to bet the 2003 UT vs Bama game is nothing more than a mere afterthought to any Bama fan given their hardware over the past few years.

When UT won it all in 1998 were you lamenting the 1988 UT/ Bama game? Didn't think so.

Iceman. Nuff said.

I wasn't a huge fan of the iceman....mainly BC he seemed like a punk....maybe it was that Vanilla Ice haircut, but I would take him in a heartbeat now!!! And he was much better than Bray, who was a colossal punk!

Anyway, I appreciate the video!

GBO!!

Thanks for the mind read. This rivalry means more than what you think it does to the diehards. Nice try though.

Every win against Bama counts!

If we beat a 4-9 GA, KY, Vandy.....it doesn't matter, but every win vs Bama counts.

IMHO

How about we just win this week??!!

GBO!!!!

So were you lamenting the 1988 loss to Bama when UT was celebrating in Tempe?

I've been to 14 UT/ Bama games. I'm pretty sure I'm a diehard.

You and fade are clearly in the minority... that game wasn't just another game ... it was an exhausting 5 OT emotional roller coaster that BOTH teams thought they had won multiple times. Pole 50 bammers and I promise they'd admit that one stung and still causes them to cringe a little when they're reminded of it. Sure, the 3 championships certainly helps take the sting off that loss but to say a game that played out like that one did, doesn't haunt them in the least, is ridiculous.

Seriously!

To your point, I would be willing to bet they're over the 2003 game with their recent hardware.'

But keep on "pole-ing" though.

Burn? So there's something wrong with having an avi of our future All American running back? Not sure if serious.

Give me a break. The worst loss I ever witnessed, and I was there, was the joke that was the 1990 bammer-UT game. Believe me, I will never forget that. We NEVER SHOULD HAVE LOST THAT GAME. To this day, I CURSE Johnny Majors for allowing that to happen. It was a JOKE!

Did beating them in 1995 take a lot of the sting away? Beating the Gators, Arkansas and FSU in 1998 help? Sure...but that is and will remain the most painful Tennessee loss of all time to me...followed closely by UF 06 and LSU 01.

A true fan remembers the painful losses...believe me.

And while I am ranting about this...who gives a $&$^$ what bammer fans think about that game anyway?

I enjoyed it tremendously. :) Bammers can go #^#^ themselves. :dance2:

You're a diehard, but that game doesn't mean anything? Is that the true definition of a die hard? Im sorry i was 4 years old and couldn't drive to that game myself. I grew up in rural Coffee County Tennessee and haven't had the luxury to go to many games. I attended Motlow State in Lynchburg to get everything i needed to move on to bigger and better things, my first born was conceived shortly after, im sorry i didnt have the luxury to attend UT games like most alumni have, but you know what? Its been my dream to attend UT and ive always bled Orange. Things just didn't work out like i had hoped. I had to stop dead in my tracks and get a full time job, work and school just couldn't support what i had going on. I had to quit school to support my family, but my love for the Vols has never stopped.

I was there for the 1990 Bama game as well. I was also at the following Bama games:

1982
1984
1986
1987
1988
1990 already mentioned
1991
1992
1993
1994
1995
1996
2002
2006

I'm pretty sure I get it. I don't see the win against Bama in 2002 as a big deal. They were 3-3 headed into that game and finished 3-8.

So with all of this going on in your life you have this much emotion for a game?

I've read your post several times and I still don't comprehend it but are you saying you were 4 in 1988? If so, that's fine. I'm simply saying there weren't 3 people in the state of TN that were worried about the 1988 UT/Bama game in Tempe in Jan 1999.

I'm pretty sure you don't. But keep thinking you do. If you got it you wouldn't have posted half the garbage you've posted in this thread. Your intense desire to make sure we know bammers don't care about that game is troubling... you suuuuure you were cheering for the vols in those games?

Yeah, I've been at quite a few of them also, and they are ALL big. Beating bammer never gets old.

Where do you get 2002 anyway? That wasn't the overtime game, that one was 2004. I was at the 2002 game, and it was sweet. Went down to the wire and we pulled it out.

Yeah, I'm sure. What else you got?

The bottom line is Bama has won 7 out of the last 10 in this rivalry with a boat-load of hardware to boot.

I don't know how old you are but you have a 17 year old as your avi. I hope you're young, under 25. If that's the case, then you being a d*psh&t is understandable.

All of what going on? Kids? Yeah most on VN have those. All im saying is, when i think back on college football seasons, Bama is the game we all enjoy the most. It's a special time during the CFB season.
