Hey Bammer Lurkers... REMEMBER THIS??

Yeah, I've been at quite a few of them also, and they are ALL big. Beating bammer never gets old.

Where do you get 2002 anyway? That wasn't the overtime game, that one was 2004. I was at the 2002 game, and it was sweet. Went down to the wire and we pulled it out.

I accidentally posted 2002 twice, by mistake....which UT got hammered by Bama. I think you meant 2003.

Yeah, I'm sure. What else you got?

The bottom line is Bama has won 7 out of the last 10 in this rivalry with a boat-load of hardware to boot.

I don't know how old you are but you have a 17 year old as your avi. I hope you're young, under 25. If that's the case, then you being a d*psh&t is understandable.

Y u mad?

All of what going on? Kids? Yeah most on VN have those. All im saying is, when i think back on college football seasons, Bama is the game we all enjoy the most. It's a special time during the CFB season.
Bama has always been the biggest rival for me with Fla a DISTANT second!

Ten years ago? You wonder why Alabama fans or fans from other teams come to this site? You cannot beat the entertainment value anywhere else. You really can't.

i figure most come here, because your boards must suck and you want a quality forum to come to,i do have to say i like to hear some input from opposing fans,ya'll do like that CPF is gone, his record against Bama speaks for it's self

the Bama streak against Tennessee will end,I'm with you ProudVOLfan, the game every year i want to see the Vols win is against Bama and it could be this year, who knows,it has been a cutthroat season so far in the SEC :)

That game was very entertaining... especially that part where Alabama players are walking off the field crying.

and fans of other teams come to this site because we're tolerant of you all... unlike tidefans.com You say one thing off there and the toothless inbreds start calling for a ban.

IF they even allow you there in the first place. They're soooo scared someone is going to say something that doesn't translate to bama worship.

When UT won it all in 1998 were you lamenting the 1988 UT/ Bama game? Didn't think so.

Weak analogy. While I suspect you are correct that UT fans weren't lamenting the '88 game when UT won the NC in January '99, that was 3 months removed from the 3rd Week in October '98, and I suspect there was a lot of lamenting on both sides of the rivalry about past games that got away during Bama week. And I still hear Bama fans lamenting about '4th and 19' so it does still bug them, same as the Mt Cody block in '09 still pizzes the shat out of me. So if the OP wants to start a thread about the '03 victory I can't for the life of me understand why anyone who claims to be a UT fan, and who actually appreciates this rivalry, would take issue with the post. If you don't get the same fire in your belly that the rest of us do this week, then fine, but why be such effing downers all because some do. It's Bama week. Enjoy it.

So the argument from this guy is that past losses no longer sting if you're currently winning?

That's just bogus, there are plenty of losses that will always hurt. Especially if you were around to witness them. I live in Alabama and I'm in constant contact with Bama fans (obviously). Trust me it doesn't matter how many championships you have, I can still get them worked up when talking about the afore mentioned games.

Although they have been on a nice run with Saban and Tennessee has been down it's still a rivalry and both sides still have hate towards other. It just doesn't seem that way with how bad we have been over the last few years.

Regardless, of whether the win from 1990 stings or not. I'm pretty positive a win of the team 117 in 2013 under first year CBJ would sting for a couple.!!!!

By the way, I'M a fairly optimistic/realist fan but I have to admit that if I brought the 1990 game up with my Alabama fan relatives. I would get made fun of, more than burn anyone.

There should be a 5 year limit on being able to throw a game from the past in a rivals face. Im sure Bama fans aren't still stinging from a game that was played a decade ago.

Heck i'm not sure any bammers would be able to remember who was coaching way back then.

Must be the glue...

I don't know... I still get mad when I think about the Jabar Gaffney "catch".

As much as I loved the game the OP posted, I would gladly trade it for three more championships in the time since then.

You're making my point perfectly. If we had 3 rings since then, I doubt many of us would still be bitter over that ending.

No one's saying the bammers are still on suicide watch because of that game.... it's a distant memory, however, I would question their fandom if they're able to watch that video or even be reminded of it and it not give them flashbacks of game that they weren't too fond of... just as I would question the fandom of a "Vol" fan who can watch that video or be reminded of that game and then only have negative things to say about it. I'm sure you're a fan of the Vols, but to me you're a piss poor fan and an even worse human being. :twocents:

Now that's what I'm talking about! This is a fine effort and I can appreciate it. There are a couple of cliches that you left out, but you covered most of them!

Pole dancin' tide ... can't keep a coach for one game tide ...

Check me out in this video

2003 Tennessee 51 Alabama 43 (CBS-Video 1) - YouTube

Go to the very end at about the 1:21 mark. I'm on the front row in orange to the left of the left upright. My buddy is the one waving his arms I'm the guy sitting there with my head in my hands thinking how much it's going to suck walking out of the stadium after this field goal goes through. I always joke I almost fell on the cripples (handicapped seating under me) I jumped up so fast. Greatest game experience I've had or probably ever will have.
