I keep seeing you guys whine about all the "crazy" "irrational" fans who dare to hold the coaches accountable for the performance of the team. So, I was wondering if you geniuses could tell me what other major college football programs' fans would be happy with the coaching staff after narrowly avoiding a loss to S. Alabama?

Go on, I'm really curious.

Nobody's happy, but we are dealing with the hand we have been dealt. It's delusional to call for a coaching change, at this point. The sane crowd knows that we have to ride out the year, hope that the recruiting class stays committed, and that the system starts to click next year.

What, exactly, do the nay-sayers suggest? I have yet to hear any reasonable suggestion.

Michigan had to do a goal line stand last week to avoid being upset. Things happen. Its the first year. Relax.

We have a bunch of guys that are either young and inexperienced or have been the product of a completely inept coaching regime for 3 years. There simply isn't a quick fix.

I keep seeing guys whine about winning the game today (yesterday). Get your head out of your f%$&##g ass and let's move on to UGA.

Since you must be one of the "crazy" irrational" fans (your words) just what do you suggest?

If you haven't figured out by now that it will be a long, slow climb out of football hell, then turn off the tv for a couple of years because you are not going to like what you see.

I am an outsider and there is nothing about tennessee's season that has surprised me so far. It's damn near exactly what I expected. I don't know what some of you who follow the vols much more passionately find confusing

Thank you.....my feelings exactly. Let's focus on the Ga....for whatever reason even when we are not a good team we play them well.

I don't know of many, if any who are calling for a coaching change. Here's the crazy thing - you can actually criticize a coach now, without calling for him to be fired. True story.

Let's face it...if we had a football program run by that mentality, we would have had about 12 coaches in 4 years. It'd be like European soccer.

The irony is that oregonvol has indicated in other threads that Fulmer should have never been fired, yet Jones has to be "held accountable" for a win over South Alabama.

I painfully agree. The biggest confusion to me is why we can't find a QB that can just adequately deliver the ball to an open receiver.

Is it your contention that Michigan fans did not criticze their coaches for that performance?

Interesting...

99gator....I agree. As painful as it is....this is what we all pretty much expected at this point. At the beginning of the season we pretty much hoped for a 6-6 season.

What? Where did I ever say that Fulmer never should have been fired? Please show me those posts.

Yeah, Alabama should have seen the writing on the wall when they lost to Louisana-Monroe in 2007. It's always on the coaches, not the lack of talent a team currently has.

So, you think that criticizing the coach(es) will somehow lead to him/them making changes?

These guys know how to win. Problem is, we are sitting on 10-5 off suit staring at a table full of paint in October.

Who's happy? Some of us aren't jumping out the window just yet, but I don't think anyone is thrilled with that second half today.

Do you have something new to add, or is the "we suck" "fire the coaches" rant sufficient? I think it's brilliant threads like this that bother some.

You want to discuss the game or some specifics that are bothering you? Lay it on us.

We are good QB away from being an above average team. Right now we have a below average QB. Things could be worse. Prep yourselves for 2010 all over again IMO at best. We'll get our teeth kicked in by UGA.
