I was diagnosed with nash in 2014, my doctor didnt seem to stress the seriousness of the situation. After reading this thread and researching online I decided to switch doctors. Went for my first visit and the doctor explained my liver biopsy results from 2014(something my old doctor never did) the results were 80% fatty infiltration of the liver and stage 2-3 fibrosis. Needless to say im kind of overwhelmed at the moment. I switched my diet to a Mediterranean diet last week and cut out anything with high fructose corn syrup. Im not sure what the 2 and a half years of the same old junk food diet i was eating did to progress it since i had my biopsy in 2014 to last week. Ive started exercising every evening as well. Ive been following this thread for a little while and starting an account just to say Im praying for you weezer. I believe you will get your transplant.
Thoughts are with both of you guys.
Weezer - Sounds like you aren't feeling too good this week. I know every day is a struggle and I'm thinking about you buddy. Hang in there and keep fighting my friend.
That's horrible that your first doctor didn't take your condition more serious. My dad had cirrhosis as well, though mine was diagnosed first. We had no idea he even had it until I read a report about his gall bladder scan. It mentioned he had cirrhosis. I asked him if he knew about it and he said the doctor never told him. His cirrhosis became cancer and he passed last June. I often wonder if things would have been different if his doctor hadn't missed/ignored that diagnosis.
My prayers are with you. What I'm going through, the problems I've faced, I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
It's sad that the doctored failed to mention that to him. I can't help but wonder how much damage I could have saved myself if my doctor had stressed the seriousness of it. My new doctor seems to be knowledgeable about the condition. He told me to eat a healthy diet and lose 10% of my body weight. Blood tests showed no diabetes and all tests were normal other than slightly elevated liver enzymes. The doctor said my enzyme levels looks like someone that is just on a bad diet. Hopefully he can get me on the right path. Thank you all for the words of encouragement.
Mine was the same. Thought I had may had leukaemia and diabetes per the blood work. I cut carbs from my diet and blood work looks much better.
