So, current update. I may be close to getting a liver if one becomes available. Met with some surgeons today as well as my liver doctor's on-call partner. They say my MELD score is in a range they like to perform the transplant at, but I think there's at least one more test the surgeons want done. If all goes well, and one becomes available, I could be close. Excited, yet scared, all rolled into one.

Praying one comes through or you and your surgery is successful. So glad you're in good hands. Keep up the good fight and remain positive, that's half the battle.

The hardest thing for me is facing this without my dad physically here. He was my rock, and losing him last year to basically this same disease, has been hard to cope.

Don't know what I can say to perk you up. It's easy to be the one who says "hang tough", but not so easy to be the one hanging. Just know you have a lot of friends sending good wishes and prayers your way.

1st - I hope you get to feeling better and get your liver.


2nd - I want to say thank you. My doc (fnp) told me a couple of years ago I had a fatty liver and to take milk thistle. I'm allergic to ragweed so I can't. Told her that. Her words were oh well that's too bad, and left it at that. Didn't say what the significance of the fatty liver was or anything. You have shown / expressed the importance of taking it serious, and educated us (me). Just know you've helped at least one person by sharing your condition. I'm forever grateful.
