Hey, I Might NOT Be Dying

Some days are just so tough. Today will be another parasentesis day. I know I need it, but having that needle jabbed into your stomach is not very pleasant. And despite several times having it done, I can't get used to it.

They drained 10.3 liters from my abdomen today. That's over 20lbs. Breathing better, but so sore.

Sending prayers.

Side note: This has really opened my eyes into the importance of being an organ donor. I guess I never really thought about it until reading this thread.

Weezer - If you are feeling up to it there's a good show next Wed. I don't mind picking you up if Joe and the crew can't make it. I'll shout next week.

Sounds good as long as I'm able. So sore today after yesterday's draining. Hopefully I bounce back tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat too. Weezy coupled with a few others I know in desperate need have made me strongly reconsider.

Dear God...

That's a lot to pull off.

Glad it helped your breathing.

Good luck, and FWIW (for other posters thinking about this), I've been an organ donor since 1969, and I've never reconsidered. Share the love, folks.

Hard to imagine how others aren't (excluding ones that can't have their organs accepted, obviously).

Hey Weezer, do you have any complicating factors that would make matching more difficult like a rare blood type or anything?

I hate you're having to go through this man. You really make my issues look like nothing more than a bad smell, you know. Here I thought being dragged to court for jury duty is a real problem, then I see your thread.

Perspective...

No idea how hard it is to match. A lot of this is over my head. I need solid numbers to know my odds, but numbers aren't being offered.

It might be worth asking your specialist the next time you go in. I feel like that's something they would probably know.

Talked to him today. He called to check on me. Said there's no way of knowing when or if I'll get a liver.

Praying for you weeze. I can't imagine how that waiting game makes you feel. I have a cousin going thru the same deal right now. They called him in a few weeks ago and had a liver but his stats/bloodwork were off so he lost it.

Just know that I'm pulling for you.
