Hey, I Might NOT Be Dying

Wasn't planning on it, but I live here in Knoxville, so I might look into it. My prior experiences at the O&W game is you rarely learn much about how good the players actually are, but now that I'm older, that might not be such a big deal.

Well I'll be there. Let me know

Weezer, did not know you lived near/in Halls. I'm just north of Halls. Anytime I can help, I will. I do travel a lot but expect to be pretty much in area after April. If you think you will need me, let me know and I will post my email for you.

Deeply appreciate the offer. I live in West Knoxville. Right now, I'm good to get around to do what I have to. Sometime it hurts, lol, but my doctors encourage me to stay mobile and do as much as possible.

I was talking to my wife about your situation. She has been an RN for many years and said to ask your doctor about a pleurx drain. She said once installed you can drain it yourself at home without the pain of the needle.

Hope you had a blast tonight and still praying for you and the family. I'm in Halls if you need anything or need someone to do errands or grocery shopping just give me a shout buddy.

I might ask about that. Right now, I get a para every two weeks.

Is it still free to get into the O&W game, or do you have to buy tickets now?

Praying for you!

Can someone point me in the direction of becoming an organ donor? I'm looking at my drivers license and there is a line that ask if you're a donor, a line for your signature, and a line for two witnesses signatures. Is that all that you have to do to become an organ donor?

I signed up just by saying I would when I got my license.

Putting on fluid way to fast, imo. Get drained again Wednesday, but I've felt ready since last Thursday. Feel miserable. I hurt almost constantly, so I try to just suck it up. What worries me is how do I know what's abnormal enough to require going to the ER?

Any doctors out there? I just wonder if there's a pain med that I could take that won't further harm my liver? Right now, I'm allowed on extra strength Tylenol a day, and that doesn't even make a dent.

I wish. I'm blood tested every week to check my numbers. If any sign of drugs popped up, I'd be removed from the transplant list.

As a minister I think it is sinful that folks with needs like you cannot not use something that God made that can help. I absolutely believe that use of Marijuana to get high is a sin. But as Paul said...I am persuaded that NOTHING is unclean of itself. People of faith need to be educated and supportive of legitimate medicine usage of natural products. I'm sorry that you are hurting, all I can do is pray..and I will.

I feel for you brother. A couple things:
1. If you feel the need to go to the ER then do it! At the very least, they can give you some of the good stuff.
2. Earlier you had mentioned needing a tissue match for the transplant. I'm far from a doctor so got curious and started snooping around the internet. Found a bunch of medical journal articles from the early 90s showing that tissue matches were basically pointless for liver and kidney transplants due to the relatively small donor pool. Not sure what has changed in the medical field since then in regards to transplants, but thought it interesting enough to share.

Interesting read. I firmly believe at least medical marijuana should be legal in all 50 states. Too many studies have pointed to medical benefits to dismiss it.

I bet it would help my wife with lupus.

Weez, is money being raise for your transplant? Sorry if the question has already been asked.
