Good grief.....you know exactly what I am saying.....there are 68 teams in the NCAA tourney and not one of them would trade places with us if we win the NIT....it is a nothing tournament with no significance.

Yes you are right about that.

But you said that they are ranked higher than us and that simply isn't true.

Saying that no NCAA team would prefer to be in the NIT, and saying that all NCAA teams are ranked higher than all NIT team..Those are 2 very different statements.

I think most people understand that the best 68 teams do NOT play in the NCAA tourney. 31 auto bids plus the next 37 play in the dance. If the NCAA tourney were straight up the best 68 teams in the country UT would make that field. So saying they're playing to be the 69th placed team is really not correct.

Sorry but a lot of these teams get a bid handed to them. Tennessee would own over half of the 68 IMO. But no reason to take anything away from Vandy. They won't be crap next year though and Stallings is a prick. John Jenkins is the real deal and I enjoy watching the man shoot.

They weren't handed to them.....they earned them.....Tennessee could have earned their way in if we hadnt lost to Austin Peay and college of charleston.

That simply isn't true.

Are you saying no team in the NIT has never finished the postseason rankings in the top 50?

What I am saying if you are not one of sixty eight teams vying for the prize........the best you can hope for is to be the best of the rest.....what your opinion is.....my opinion is....or some writers opinion is does not change that

automatic bids and other means to get into tournament Does not put the best 1- 68 into the tourney. It is political and gives the mid majors their due respect.

I'm not trolling......I'm a vol fan all the way and will pull for them no matter what game they are playing.....I never said we were the 69th best team but that is what the nit is for......I don't agreethat its political but gives all div one teams a chance to prove it on the court.....look at what nicholls state did in round one.

See there you go again. How is the NIT competing to be the 69th best team? There is no way you could possibly argue some of the auto bids are in the top 69th in the nation.

Bump all that crap about Stallings, is Coach Martin recruiting Nick King out of Memphis East? The kid is a 4 star player that just took his team to the AAA State Championship.
