Hey Kevin Stallings A Message For You!

I know that making the NCAA tourney is ALWAYS better than making the NIT, but I'm not sure getting knocked out in the second round would be better than winning the NIT. If Tenn goes on to win it all, they will be getting much more publicity and air-time than Vanderbilt with their early exit. With that said, I would still rather us have made the NCAA's but from a national perspective and exposure standpoint, the NIT may have been the better option.

I'm happy with our team right now and feel good about the future.

If I'm Vandy I don't know that I feel the same.

Your thoughts?

Life and sports is about the present and near future. Vandy went out again in the tourney and has very little coming back. UT may still have another few games for me to watch, and gets virtually everyone back next year.

I don't agree with those that think one and done trumps a few NIT wins. That's just me though. That ncaa bid is basically forgotten now, or will be this week, and the focus is on the underperformance, rather than the bid.

The other thing flying under the radar here is Maymon's injury. He sustained it in the LSU game and played on it during both the Vandy and Ole Miss tourny game. If UT had won that game and then played another 1 or 2 games, would Maymon have even been able to play if the Vols had earned an NCAA bid? I was pulling for the NCAA bid but I think this team ended up where they needed to be. Life has a funny way of doing that sometimes.

I have had two Vandy fans echo the infamous NIT jab. I cannot wait to hear their excuses now. Way to represent champs!

How was that loss history making?

Besides me and 4 of my friends being able to beat lehigh, it's the first time two 15's have won in the same tournament. I have nothing against Missouri, and duke lost second (making it the history making loss). Be a jackass somewhere else.

Not even close to being true.

Making the round of 32 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Winning the NIT.

Whole thread is pointless now. Some people look a bit foolish as well.

Although I am a biased, lets be real here...

Round of 32>NIT Second Round Loss.

And Vandy didnt "choke", they brought a team that was RANKED HIGHER THAN THEM down to the wire and had some questionable calls go against them and eventually lost.

Just my opinion. If the tables were turned I would say UT had the better season for sure.

If UT had Stokes the 1st half of the season some of those pathetic losses wouldnt have been on the resume - that said UT had a very decent season - Vandy is headed to the bottom once Jenkins leaves :good!:

If frogs had wings......

Candy was favored by 1.5 over Wisky. The difference was 1 seed. Not a big deal.

They had 4 seniors and 1 Jr that had played together for years with another Sr coming off the bench and could only muster 1 NCAA win. In fact, they could only muster 1 NCAA win in 3 tries. If that isn't choking then I'd like to know what it is.

Seeded higher..And yes they did "choke"..Just like every season Stallings has been there..They have had the talent to make deep tourney runs but haven't, hence: CHOKE...JMO

Kevin Stallings has 6 NCAA tourney wins since 1999. Yea Vandy does suck.

For comparison sake, UT has 11 and that includes Jerry Green and Buzz Peterson coached teams.

I hate Vandy but I think coach Stallings is pretty okay. He beat Kentucky. I'd take him at UT. He was just doing a little good natured ribbing. The Vols have beaten them up so much in football you can't fault the guy for making a joke.
