Highest decibel level ever?????

2 loudest Iā€™ve been to were 2016 Florida and 2015 Oklahoma.
I was at 2016 Florida and didnā€™t think it was impressively loud. Maybe it was just where I was sitting but I had been at louder games than that.

One that gets forgotten a little bit because we lost and the team wasnā€™t very good was 2013 Georgia. I had legit hearing issues after that game for a few days.

2022 Bama game holds record, iirc.

Edit- I am incorrect - UGA 2023 per another poster.

Same. At least clap your hands! And it wasn't all boomers. Some young people just standing and watching
Our ā€œNeyland Pumpkinsā€. Vegetables clad in orange.

Mission: Taking up space, enjoying the atmosphere that others create.

Motto: Someone else will do it. Iā€™m just here to breathe.

I am probably in that blue hair category in terms of age - and I can get as loud as the rest of them. Sometimes I need to sit down, just because my body tells me to, but that doesn't mean I'm not still loud as I can be. Some folks just talk and speak louder.

Everyone who takes the time to be at the game and support the team as best as they can deserves respect.

I was with my father and another man who are close to 70. They yelled and clapped with me. Sitting down only hurts your view while standing doesnā€™t really help the Vols. Itā€™s the noise that gives us home field advantage.

I stand as often as possible because it hurts to sit in a confined space for hours. I sit when I can because it hurts to stand in a confined space for hours. I get up and walk around the concessions because it feels good to move around and stretch. I really like that the non-students sit and stand often.

I've beaten this dead horse many times, back when the upper deck sat down and stomped their feet-- that echo made it the loudest I've ever heard Neyland. I was below them for the Bama game in the early 90s and I could not hear the person next to me. Never heard the PA announcer either.

I wish people hadn't stopped doing that. For some reason they think silently standing up and clapping a little is better

So many options for the loudest game. Yesterday was really close to the 15ā€™ Oklahoma game Iā€™d say. Both were so loud you could literally feel the noise.

I think people overlook Texas A&M last year at home. When we backed them to the 1 in the south end zone, I could feel my teeth rattle. That was absolutely electric.

Lots of great, loud moments over the years. I wonder if once you get past a certain point in decibels you canā€™t tell much of a difference?

The official record is Georgia 2023 - maybe when Jaylen Wright ran the opening play in for a touchdown? But for my money Oklahoma 2015 was louder. I know, the screen said Georgia set the record ... if that's true then it had to come early considering how uncompetitive that game was. But OU 2015 was something I've never experienced since. Don't get me wrong, the home crowds are fire all season these days. Tennessee fans are hungry for it now and come ready to feast.
Last game I attended was OU 2015. The best sustained crowd noise Iā€™ve witnessed.

This is why I would like to see a little more transparency on it but whatever. It was fā€™n loud.

Nah, stadium doesnā€™t even hold 102,000 anymore. Iā€™d say the record was set back when we held like 107,000

We sat under the overhang on the first level at the Florida game and it was insanely loud. You could barely even hear your own self screaming.

We did not even come close to the record last night. The fluctuating noise meter on the jumbotron is just for show and is not an actual measurement of how loud it is inside Neyland stadium. Everyone needs to ignore that meter from now on.

Fans in Neyland stadium set the NCAA all time stadium noise record of 137db last year during the Georgia game. Here's a link:
