the press in this country no longer reports facts they report their opinions. people in our country have become so used to being told what to believe they have forgotten how to think for themselves.

I don't know that they necessarily report opinions, but they do report one-sided much of the time. I like CNN's web layout better than Fox's so I'll sometimes go find a story there and research it on other news sites like Reuters, etc.. to see if there was more to it than that. A great example of trying to influence people recently was CNN relentlessly reporting what the US could have done with the dollar figure spent on the war so far. I,e, free gas for everyone for a year, 20000 new schools. It might be true, but is it practical? No. If we did that, then how would we fund our military and security operations? On Fox this morning, about 8 deep in the stories, you have FOXNews.com - U.S., Georgian Officials Last Summer Arrested Man Selling Bomb-Grade Uranium - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News about a man arrested selling uranium for bombs (good story). Front page on CNN about the same depth in the lineup you have a story about an $8MM vehicle that makes big tires go over 200mph...(useless).

I agree with both Melissa and J. Quest.

You really have to hunt to get at the real crux of a story. If I read it or hear it on Fox, I go verify elsewhere. Likewise if I read or hear it on CNN.

I do like the "Grapevine" section on the Britt Hume show (Fox). They do some digging about reporting or stories you hear elsewhere and give you a different view - usually quite comical.

Well Hillary used to be a strong advocate for right wing agendas. In the 1960's she was a Barry Goldwater supporter. At some point she does a polar shift in her ideology and adopts extreme left wing views. Publicly she may make decisions and speak as if she is a moderate but at heart she is very left wing. Read her book, "It Takes A Village." The size of the U.S. government could quite possibly triple if Hillary's perceptions of "society" were permitted to materialize. She is so far left the only person beyond her is Marx and he is not very far in front.

yeah, that's one less idiot she needs to push out of her way. I'm looking forward to the debates she's going to have with the remaining candidates after the first round of primaries.

most of the dems are terrified of her and the news media adores her.

I can't figure out the reason the media loves her, but other Dem's fear her, beacuse she's raises alot of money.

Newt has hinted around at running as a "last resort", ie, if no one competent steps up...what is the likely hood? I hope he does. I can't say I'm enamored with anyone in the mix right now.

I like her, but you've got to admit; Condi Rice has a Stepford Wife quality to her. Sometimes you look at her and wonder if she's just been programmed. I think some are just enamored with the idea of a black, female, Republican candidate. Nevermind that she's never held elected office.

there are a few conservative/libertarian women I'd like to see run for President, but I doubt any of them would want to take the cut in pay.

First of all you are right "Bush is an idiot" is not an arguement - just a factual statement :shaking2:

I am not saying that these things will happen under the Dem rule; however this current group took advantage of this country in the wake of 9/11 and have used patriotism to exploit the positions they were elected to.

DING DING DING
:salute:
