Hit the Road, Barrack

you keep saying that, but the first term incumbent is almost always polling ahead of the presumptive challenger. Carter was ahead of Reagan, HW Bush was ahead of Clinton.

Polls of yesteryear are etch a sketch. Polls nowadays are much more scientific, and I'm still skeptical.

the only poll that matters is the one taken on Election Day

Valuable post. :good!:

Krugman and Ferguson have been going St each other for years after some major issues between them at a conference, iirc. Both are on extremes of respective partisan interests.

Gary Johnson fans might want to put your money where your mouth because he only has $14k in cash on hand. The 3rd party likes to talk about "real change", yet don't back up their talk with cash. And you wonder why nobody takes him seriously

Because they're not bought and paid for like obama or your boy mitt

And he's already on the ballot in all 50

I already did. Enjoy making fun of the only guy who would change anything. Sadly this country deserves what it gets

I'll never donate to a campaign.

You seem to have a perverse conception of money and political campaigns.

Good luck with that "real change" message with $14 grand in the bank. My homeowners association has a better chance to promote their message vs Gary

Ron Paul, who represents 3rd party change akin to Johnson, set records for money-raising in small donations (so not corporations/big business). Nobody takes Johnson seriously because they don't know him. He hasn't put 30 years of work in trying to get recognition like Paul did. Johnson wasn't even invited to the debates.

What do you expect? The system is intended to keep people like him down, and when it keeps him down you think that is a sign that he isn't a legitimate candidate.

Then Johnson isnt as smart as we thought or doesnt want to even try. It wouldn't take much for him to convince Obama to help him get into the debates. The MSM would jump on it with Obama's support.

We're talking about the debates leading up to the Republican nomination. They included every idiot Republican who could say the words "I want to be president" and excluded Johnson.

Umm. I guess Johnson will obliterate Obama and Romney vote-for-buck.

You seem to have this misconception that money = votes or money = support among the electorate. Most money given to a campaign on either side is given via a big entity with a vested interest. That entity expects something in return for their investment if their candidate wins. Those entities need vehicles to get their agenda into law. The Libertarian party cannot ensure that at the moment, thus the money is not there. It is vicious circle.

I seriously know a dozen people in northern VA who all voted for Obama who now all want him gone and are voting for Romney You can take that sample size for what it's worth

There are quite a few people like that. It doesn't mean that Romney (or Obama, for that matter) is going to win in a landslide. Nobody is winning this election by more than 2 or 3 points in either direction.

the rules are set so that he can't be in them without polling to a certain number (guess who set that). That won't be changed and Obama wouldn't want him there anyway
