Hit the Road, Barrack

You left out the vote suppression efforts of the GOP, which are meeting with mixed legal results.

Edit: I mean "voter fraud prevention techniques"

Like the efforts by the Obama administration in Ohio vis a vis military abstentees.

I have changed tunes and calling it for Romney at this point. At the beginning I thought Obama would take it hands down but through it all Romney is still right over his shoulder and isn't going away. Most polls have it close and at this stage that isn't good for the current sitting President. Kind of like getting passed on the last lap of a race.

Well the flip side is that Romney can't crack above 45-47% either. Given the atrocious economy and general negative tone of Team Obama it's worrisome that Romney isn't decently ahead.

I hope you are right though.

This is interesting:

Last month alone, Obama spent nearly $59 million through his main campaign account — $10 million more than he raised, financial reports filed late Monday afternoon show. The cost of his campaign so far: more than $325 million, not counting spending by the the Democratic Party committees aiding his re-election.

By contrast, President Bush had spent $205.4 million to retain the White House at this point in the 2004 election.

Obama campaign's spending outpaces its fundraising

Also note:

Overall, Romney has spent $165.3 million through his main campaign account since the beginning of last year, but he must wait until after he is formally nominated at next week's Republican National Convention in Tampa to draw on his substantial general-election funds.

At least that state senator in PA had the courtesy to come out and admit the law was designed to give Romney an edge

That was incredibly dumb. At least have the common sense to make sure you're not being televised or recorded before you make such a statement.

Yep, huge trouble considering we are in a horrible economy and his signature piece of legislation is quite unpopular.

Yet, he would win if the election were held today. What should that tell you about the GOP?

Romney could still win the election, there is a couple months 'til election day, but it won't for a lack of Romney and the GOP digging themselves a hole.

I don't think beating him would be easy for anyone. As bad as Obama is, there are a lot of guys that love him, and the media would make any republican candidate look like Satan.

True. But Romney has to run a smarter campaign. He has to help himself and stop shooting himself in the foot every other week.

Oh noes! A local news poll in Michigan shows Romney leading!

In other news, a survey of 5 people at the drive thru line at Wendy's shows that Obama leads by 100%.

a survey at the local gov't hand out office also shows Obama leads by 100%

Romney is holding back most of his funds until after the rnc. He also cant even use rnc funds until he is nominated. At that point he is going to flood tv with ads and overly saturate the tv. Obama will not have enougj left to keep equal airtime.

if airtime seals the deal, we're doomed. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that, collectively, we're idiots.
