Holding my nose and pulling for GA.

No ****ing way. I want anyone but uga

I admit I am torn IF IF IF GA and TCU face each other. I think GA bashing them after they beat Mich might move us up an additional spot, but also think them not winning another natty and only having one less loss than us might be good too. I do think GA spanking both big 10 teams is our best shot at highest final ranking. Some voters may not be able to avoid applying the common opponent calculation. But they would still only have 1 loss so I don't think it is a given. A GA win would continue the SEC dominance stat they kick around and we could avoid Herbie and other talking heads proclaiming the Big 10 has passed us by by virtue of two finalist and a natty. UGH.... of course if we lose a lot of this logic will have to be rethought out.

I do all the time. I pulled for Bama to beat GA for example THIS YEAR. I pulled for AU to beat GA. I pulled for AU to beat Bama.

Guess I made it too difficult to break the code. I will pull for any team if them winning advantages UT. So in truth I am not really pulling for teams to win, but for teams to lose and that requires a victory by whoever they are playing. So I will be pulling for OSU and MICH to lose as early as possible regardless of who they are playing. If they lose big enough we might pass them. No way we are passing GA, so if TCU wins the first game I will be pulling for GA to lose, and for Bama to lose regardless of who they are playing.

I almost ALWAYS root for ND to lose, and since the earrh is not likely to swallow up both teams a SC win is a necessary lessor evil.
No matter how you phrase it, you're still wrong.

No one in the playoff is getting jumped. They wont be punished for losing a game in the playoff. And stop cheering for our sec rivals. They are the ONLY ones we are competing exist. Screw them.

It's not that I think UT should be there, but I have no interest in the CFP this year. Give me the Orange Bowl, let UT win and I will be happy. Oh, I may watch but, meh.

The orange bowl is the last game of the year for me. The older I get I just don't set around and watch football unless it's the Vols I'd rather go fishing.. Red fish is my forte.🐟🐠🐚

We have all heard the narratives about some teams getting into the four team format getting EXPOSED. The CFP committee does not vote again do they? If so, it will be back in the hands of the pollsters. I particularly do not want an all BIG final and have been in the camp that TCU is not of the same caliber as the rest. COULD be wrong, but don't think they handle MICH, so I need GA to beat the hand selected OSU team since they insured GA did not get TCU when they dropped them from 3 TO 3 after a loss trying to set up the opportunity for an all BIG final. That was pretty transparent to me. I would welcome a TCU two game sweep to insure a non BIG champion and not having an undefeated team left standing. I would prefer that to an OSU or MICH love fest due to their jealousy over several all SEC games. Though UT's final poll position would probably be better served with GA dominating their two opponents. The noise Bama and UT could make WITH WINS would be fun to follow if GA put bigger beatdowns in those games than in our contests with them. Especially for us if SC continues their late season trend and whacks a BIG region favorite ND pretty good and LSU also whacks Purdue, another BIG player.

That is my dream, not my prediction, and I am sticking to it. I cannot think of anything better for UT. My love of the VOLS supersedes my disdain for ANY other program. I get it, others are free to play their hate cards over the VOLS best case. I don't see a scenario where GA is not the highest ranked SEC team. 5 Bama and 6 UT could jump 4 OSU for sure and MICH and TCU maybe, outcomes dependent. If GA and TCU do not prevail I see a 1,2 of OSU MICH winner and loser, 3 TCU, with GA, Bama and UT 4.5. and 6 with wins for Bama and UT.

UT and Bama get a shot at posting their wins and putting pressure on the others and get to sit back and watch. Maybe we will get some shots of team gatherings to see who our staff and team are pulling for. I will alter my wishes if out of step with them.

Am I the only one that thinks that the NCAA needs some upsets this year to justify the expansion? By historical measures there are clearly only two teams that should compete for the championship. IMO the expansion will reduce the number of quality OOC regular season games

I agree. Based on the season, it should just be Michigan vs uga. NCAA needs OSU and TCU. Why expand if the top 2 face each other for the championship?

Go look at how many guys they signed from their own state this year and get back to me. Why would finishing top 3 not help coach in the living rooms next cycle to get more of those bigtime GA guys that went to places other than GA? Or anywhere else in America?

The MORE back the better when coach goes into the living rooms. We will probably have to join them in the upper reaches before we can pass them, and ironically, they can help us more than they help themselves with the right kind of wins. The loss at SC will pale in comparison to a FINISH above Mich and OSU and TCU if GA can help us pull that off. My love of the VOLS is simply greater than my hate for GA. Do not want to cut off my nose to spite my face.

As opposed to Georgia coming in to a recruits house with their 2 time national champion (I just threw up a little saying that) speech? No thanks I will suffer through it if Ohio State somehow pulls off the upset

Like I said when I started this thread. If we win, and GA clobbers OSU and Mich in the title game, Bama loses or wins poorly, we could FINISH the year ranked as high as #2. If Bama wins big, #3. Who will have GAINED the most ground on the recruiting trail? They are and have been there, and we are coming out of the weeds.

1. Where are the logic flaws in MY best case scenario?
2. How does making the SEC look weaker than the Big 10 benefit UT?
3. How far does GA really fall with 1 loss vs how far can we climb if they win 2.

We might move up right behind them if they beat OSU and lose in the final if Bama loses.
We MIGHT pass TCU or Mich loser, OSU and Bama.. The higher we get the more Heupel HYPE we have on the trail. I guess TCU winning it all COULD be best, but tops is #3. Mich losing to TCU won't be as impactive as to GA. GA losing to OSU and TCU losing to Mich is the worst. We will just be behind even more folks on the trial cause we are not passing GA in the polls. The hay is mostly in the barn this cycle and GA will still be up the list next cycle, BUT we can be more of a factor if top 3, a real factor at 2.

The further I read your posts and see your continual praise of Georgia and notice you joined the site December of 2017 I am convinced you are a UGA troll. By using your logic with all of Bamas NC'S our recruiting classes the past 15 years would have been top 5. Nice try though

That would make their job that much harder. I doubt CJH and anyone on the staff is hoping UGA wins so that we can be ranked higher. We will be ranked what we are ranked. The loss to SC is ultimately affecting our ranking not a UGA win.

If we are to believe op logic, if UGA gets boat races we could finish "higher in the rankings" than them?

At this point, does it even matter? We finished where we finished. No one remembers who made the end of year top 4 or whatever. They only remember the champion, barely remember the 4 playoff teams, and everyone else isn't even relevant.

This was a good year for us. A great year even. Could it have been even better? Yes. But it wasn't. And that's still far beyond what any of us thought in the beginning of the year. We beat Bama, and that was a moment I'll remember for a lifetime.

We will have our day in the sun, but it isn't this year. I'm excited about the Orange bowl, and hope we beat Clemson, and Milton shows us he is ready to be the guy in 2023.
I will remember....that's a big part for me as a fan.

When SEC teams win in bowl games doesn’t that solidify that this is the best conference in the country??
I’ve never understood that mindset that anyone wants any SEC team to lose in a bowl game.

No way uga can keep up with OSU’s receivers. Stroud throwing for 400. Dawgs lose by 3 tds.

I kind of agree with you, but not by 3 TD's. Keelee Ringo against Marvin Harrison jr. is worth the price of admission itself. Experts say that Marvin is the most technically sound and polished route runner to come along in decades. He is as good, if not better than his legendary dad.

I don't know if it is possible for any receiver to be better than Marvin Sr. And such a classy guy to boot. Loved that when he scored a touchdown he just carried on with business instead of putting on an end zone show.

Then you need to read on. You will see if TCU gets to the title game I am flipping over to them. Just do not want a Big 10 champion, We might pick up another spot in final rankings if GA prevailed, but having them with one loss instead of 0 is probably better in the long run. But if Mich gets there I would want somebody other than OSU to beat them. Pretty simple. If you don't that makes you a troll pulling for the Big 10 guys now that I see how that works.

Pretty clear now that you have validated being a bigger fan of the Big 10. Yes I want TCU to beat Mich.... if they don't I want GA to, not OSU. An all Big 10 final should not be a supported outcome of these bowls.

Once again when called out as a troll you resort to " I know you are but what am I"
As a fan of Tennessee I will always pull for any team that is playing a rival. Because your final ranking drivel aside it is more impactful to Tennessees recruiting if a conference rival doesn't win. I'm a man. What Hirbstreet says is meaningless. It's nothing more than a guy on TV trying to get ratings.

We lost to South Carolina in a blowout. Wherever we end up the final polls when all the bowls have been played and the national champion crowned is going to be generous and debatable. Basically everything from 2nd place on down doesn't matter anyways... Regardless of that I feel good about the season and assuredly we have a top 10 finish with forward momentum into next season. And hopefully Georgia gets their *** beat in the first round!
