Holly should go after the 2 duke transfers

A possibility but I don't think a strong one. I don't think it will be Tennessee either. I don't see an elite player leave one struggling program for another.

Last 3 years in the EE isn't exactly "struggling" as you suggest!!!! Although our standards are FF or nothing....I wouldn't put us in the same category as Duke's struggles.

I feel like an interloper saying what I feel..... how many times will i read that our LVs reaching the EE is a resounding success..... if we had a roster like Little Sisters of the Poor, it would be one thing..... 7 HS All Americans.... that leads the country.... and teams are making the FF with 0 HS All Americans, and 1 and 2....

Everyone can celebrate reaching the pinnacle of the Elite 8 if they choose..... I would be happy as well if we are trying to build a roster..... but last year we scored 48 points and lost to Maryland!!! This year we got thumped by 22 points to the "other" orange team....

I will never be happy with that, and I will never, ever think that this continuous performance of getting only this far is acceptable GIVEN THE ROSTER WE HAVE....

Andy Landers said the other day that Tennessee has at least as good a roster as anyone in the country, UConn included..... although I do not need Andy Landers to remind me of this, it is that kind of statement that will keep my standard for the LVs rigid in my mind.

For everyone who loves love loves the fact that we hit the Elite 8 3 years in a row..... I congratulate you!

I don't think anyone here is happy with just making it to the EE....like I previously stated we're at a standard of FF or nothing! I only referenced us making it to the EE in respect to the UCONN poster whom insinuated that we're struggling just as much as Duke, whom didn't even make the tourney this year with damn near as many "McDonald's All Americans"(blah) as us!

don't forget about the injuries bill,I think it would have made a huge difference if all 3 had been healthy

Damn: losing a freshman who averaged 18 points and 9 boards? That's rough--Stevens must have been Duke's best player, or close to it. We should go after her full bore. I'm curious to know why she's leaving. Getting her would be a major coup---A Graves replacement, only better.

We only lost one MDAA folks.. It ain't the players that need replacing, it is the part of the coaching equation left by Pat summit. They are obviously hurting for a techniques coach. (Open layups are still missed all the time,, jumpshots don't fall,, passing is just "ok" and ,, and ball handling is miserable. But it isn't the players... They came in with these skills,.

It is the ability to coach that talent and a shared vision from the top of the heap HW to the bottom of the pile (numerous possible entries here).... Pat was the Matriarch. She obviously took a mid-to-upper level staff and made them look much better. . . What was lost with Pat was the ability to coordinate a team's vision and the one part of the coaching equation that could control ANY players emotions. . . . .

I have to coach emotions,,, But I never coach passion....

Pat said those very words in Chattanooga in 1996-97 SEC tourney. I heard them personally and wrote them down that day.

Well if your wondering why a Duke player would transfer its really not that hard to figure out. The coach has a real bad temper, constantly berates and humiliates her players constantly. Never takes accountability. She's already ran off assistants and a couple of players. Kendall Cooper was considering us before she signed with Duke, I hope she will consider transferring here she would be eligible to play second semester.

Nice you can quote Pat, but a real shame you can't spell her name, really makes it hard to think you can make a lay-up, or spell.

What's wrong with that? If you want to become the toughest of the tough, constant berating and being run over by a bus will likely make you impervious to pain and bad conditions. I guess it may not help you shoot and rebound well, though.

The Blue Devils lost 12 games this year, essentially one less than the LVs since they didn't go to a Tourney, but a chunk of those losses were largely due to Stevens being out with her plantar fascia problems. She did come back and very possibly will be sitting for a year, but plantar issues need to handled carefully because when they become chronic they are just miserable for BB players.

In order for a transfer to be eligible, she first has to be enrolled in classes at her new university for two semesters. So unless this young lady has been taking classes in Knoxville since January 2016, she would not be eligible to suit up for the spring semester of 2017.

Duke has to sign off on any school before she can contact them, since she is still enrolled there as a student.

Duke is on our schedule for the next two seasons. I doubt JPM releases her to a school that Duke be playing while she is still in college.

She could, but I doubt it.

Do you think they would fit into Holly's system?
I don't think so, all of the reports I have seen indicate they can both hit a layup.

JPM is an a**hole. She's a verbally abusive coach. You can watch any of her post game interviews and see it. There's a difference between criticizing and consistently demeaning a player. Not too many women's basketball fan bases care for her as a coach either. You think UT fans want Holly gone that's nothing compared to the hatred from the fans of Duke toward McCallie.

Plantar Fasciitis is very serious. You don't have to be a BB player to be grounded by this affliction. If you have plantar fasciitis, you won't walk or stand on the affected foot. Period. I know. I suffer from it periodically. Often called 'policeman's heel' it can take months of therapy and rehabilitation to recover. The surprise is that someone as young and as slender as Stevens suffered from it.

Yes indeed, Duke's academic reputation has ensured a stream of good players to many sports (even its former joke of a football team has consistently posted 8-10 wins the last four years and beaten some ranked teams), but the WCBB play has really slid backward even with strong recruits since GG left and JPM took over. I know the Devils have had some crippling injuries the last few years, but it does make you wonder if some of the injuries have been exacerbated by the psychological trauma of the constant tire treads of the buses.
