Just what we need...

If a strike does happen, late night TV in the US will be the first visible sign. Without comedy writers to poke fun at the day's news - shows like Saturday Night Live and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver will go off air.

Some movies and TV shows could continue filming if scripts are already written, but some will shut down because some actors, directors and set workers will refuse to cross picket lines.

How a Hollywood strike could affect your favourite TV shows

I will personally volunteer to lead negotiations. (And make sure they never succeed 😉)

Haven't they been on strike for years now? Mindless reboots and lame token stories. Very little real writing going on anyway.
this is what I was thinking. they really gong to run out of people to read comic books to come up with the next Marvel movie? Going to reboot Batman for the upteenth time? Rehash the same rom-com/Hallmark plot line?

as much as I enjoy the John Wick movies they are falling into the same boat.

I can do their work for them. Typical one hour drama follows
1) main character (Doctor, lawyer, or cop take your pick) develops a romantic interest in a character of the same sex (bonus for trans)
2) evils stereotypical conservative caricature expresses hate or anti government sentiments
3) now diversified main character defeats bigoted conservative viewpoint (including a virtuous speech confronting said conservative and putting them in their shameful place
4) peaceful rainbow world is now safe (until
Next week when an anti abortion protest makes for more virtue signaling treacle)
Now where’s my check? 😂

Yeah, they've been in strike creatively for years. I think the problem is that there is so many streaming services stations Etc, how can you continue to be creative having to put out so much content. People watch a year or two years worth of shows in a matter of days. As for late night shows, it has no bearing on me

Sounds like the writers will eventually get more money and we will have to deal with abridged seasons of shows in the mean time.

Hopefully the Koreans continue to produce good **** for Netflix.
