Home run - Terrible hire

I didn't see this segment, but I heard that the Enrichment Sports Source guys did this so I wanted to see what you guys think.
Name four coaches.
1. Your home run hire
2. The guy you want if we don't get a "home run" hire
3. If UT has to seriously SETTLE on someone, who could you talk yourself into being okay with?
4. A hire that would make you flip out like the Scut Farkus Affair.

Try to make these somewhat realistic. Don't even waste your time naming guys like Jim Harbaugh or Chip Kelly. And under the "settle" pick, put a guy you think would really be far down on our list. So don't put someone like Chris Petersen under "settle".

2. Gary Patterson
3. Gus Malzahn
4. Al Golden

3. Gus Malzahn (copying you but he would be a good settle)

2. Mike Gundy (Patterson, Mora Jr, Roman are also fine)
3. Dave Doeren
4. Al Golden

I really went down the list for the SETTLE option. There are several that I would want before Doeren, but I'd take him over Golden.

2. HR hires = Gruden or Stoops, IMO, so...Patterson, then Strong.
3. god...I'm can't believe I'm even going to say this but he coaches an SEC school in Middle TN. (I'm sorry...really, but the job he's done over the last 2 year cannot be denied.)

amazed at how many people don't consider Stoops a "home-run hire."

Are you all smoking crack? He'd ABSOLUTELY be a home-run.

Don't be ashamed. It would be a tough pill to swallow, but I think he'd do a fine job here. Not sure we'd win a NC anytime soon, but we sure as hell wouldn't have to worry about consecutive losing seasons anymore.

I don't think we'd be settling if we got Franklin because he would probably turn us down anyway... Say what you want but that guy would excite this fan base and with our recruiting budget and things would DOMINATE the recruiting trail. The guy has VANDY in contention for the Chick-fil-a bowl with an average recruiting class of probably 12th in the SEC.. Dude would kill it at UT. I would consider it a home run hire and would absolutely love to watch the reaction from Vandy fans. But he's going nowhere
