Are you serious?

ummm... yes?

Gruden - Home Run.

Stoops - Hasn't been "great" lately, but is a proven winner.

Fulmer - Question was who would you settle for. He's not my first choice, but if UT gets rejected by the first 10 candidates I'd rather hire Fulmer on the cheap with a short contract than to do what we did with Dooley, throw millions after an un-proven coach.

Kiffin - Trying to be a little creative here. Could Kiffin realize that LA sucks and Tennessee is a great place to raise a family, and try to come back? Yes; unlikely, and furniture stores across the state would need armed guards to protect their couches!

1a)Gruden 1b)Stoops. Both would be bomb shell hires on the SEC.

2)Patterson

3)Fedora

4) Petrino. I don't care how good he is, it's just gonna reek of a desperation hire.

4b) Smart. Any coordinator really but I don't get the fascination with hiring Richt's coach in waiting.

Stoops would be a "homerun" hire and don't think he falls in the OP's category for #2. I sort of agree with you on Fulmer. I'd rather have him back than a Dykes, Jones, Briles type. They would dig up General Neyland and put him on the sideline before Kiffin was hired back. There is less than a 0% chance of that happening.

Most of them I am okay with except Petrino, Tressel, Butch Davis. Those three spell nothing but trouble, particularly for us.

1. Gruden - Good history, street cred, and the fan base is behind him. He is THE home run hire.

2. Patterson - Long, solid HC experience and clean compliance record.

3. Fisher - People forget how shaky FSU was before he took over. He started recruiting and coaching well right from the start. One of the few 'coaches in waiting' that was worth the wait. I believe the guy is the real deal and FSU would be crazy to let him walk.

4. Petrino - For obvious reasons.

BTW ... GREAT job OP. I love it when people actually start thoughtful, intelligent conversation. :good!:
