I am surprised you werent consulted before the hire, I would be upset too. Can you just make it a clean sweep and be done with UT Athletics as a whole?

I am the one that has the high opinion of Tennessee, we CAN hire anyone, but with a clown like Hamilton leading the charge we are doomed. Why do so many of you attack me yet accept Hamilton's low esteem of UT.

While I am not overjoyed by this hire, you surely understand that this was a crucial hire for Hamilton. I have no doubt that he expects this hire to be successful as it will likely doom him if this coach crashes. There were better known coaches that were interested in this job. Why we didn't take longer and seek a better known coach, only the ones involved know that answer. However, we now have a coach and as a UT fan, he has my full support and I hope only the best for him. No way I drop support for the basketball program, regardless of who the coach is. You should admit that honestly you weren't really a fan to begin with.

You do understand that coaching basketball and football are different animals, right?? The more and more people realize this, the better our fanbase will be. Also, it's hard to just hire a "name", because you need someone who is going to work their tail off to make sure we don't fall too far. Sometimes a name isn't what you need.

I can't imagine what your reaction to the Bruce Pearl hire was.

There are maybe 5 programs in the country who can get any coach they want. UT isn't one of them. Throwing $5 million at Mike Krzyzewski isn't going to pull him away from Duke.

If you had followed basketball, you would know that we hired a very solid up and coming coach.

Hand it to the UTAD, our last two basketball hires have been based on substance more than style or famous names. My hat is off to Hammy.
