Look at Bennetts body of work. Y’all are crazy to think he isn’t an elite QB.
I'd love to see stats broken down per minutes versus per game. That would be devastating for Stetson.Stetson played 2 1/3 more games, against basically the same competition, except Georgia played Oregon instead of Alabama. How is he in with these stats and Hooker is out? He’s not the best player on his offense, let alone his team.
Best part? They got SMOKED. Williams, like his coach, is a s**tbag. What a crock. Hooker should be there over Bennett and it’s not even close.
Also- Isn’t “integrity” *supposedly* a big part of the Heisman trophy? And if so, why are they inviting the guy that painted “F*** Utah” on his fingernails?
Do you one better. Consider how the baseball team acted all season. Do you think that allowing Hooker the opportunity in NY would have helped push the football team to that same level of swagger? I like it, if not LOVE it, but a LOT of people couldn't stand it.Hooker not being in the top 4 for the Heisman SEEMS to indicate UT isn't doing something right in the PR department.
These voters are all over the country. I have a feeling GA is doing a better job getting Bennett's name in front of the right people: the Heisman voters. It is a campaign, an election by 900+ people, and like political campaigns the best candidate is the person who is perceived to be the best..... often nowhere near the best choice.
Hooker got screwed but not because of a conspiracy, it's too diverse of a group for that to be workable. TN needed to "work the media" and get stories out there early and often about Hooker, every dime he dropped, every time he was leading on the sidelines, his turnaround from VT to b UT, etc.
WE, as TN faithful, know these things and see them but a Heisman campaign needs to make sure they see these stories regularly in Peoria, Puyallup, or Prestonsburg...... wherever Heisman voters are.
There were quite a few games for us that Hooker never saw the 4th. The fact Stetson HAD to play the second half against Kent State says everything that needs said.I just heard a stat - Bennett had 300 or so passing yards in the 4th quarter of all games. He was handing off the ball to back up RBs while Huepel was having Hooker run it up.

Since you brought up Kent State, what do you think reflected more positively with the voters, Bennetts less than stellar performance in a 17 point win against Kent State or Hookers numbers in a 25 point loss to SC?
its a popularity thing with the top teams... that's all it is. it's complete bs - and qb's almost always win itThe problem is there are so many voters that probably haven’t watched Hooker or Bennett play. They see UGA is #1, hear talk about Stetson, and just include him on their ballot, probably behind the guys they’ve actually seen like Stroud and Williams. The guys covering the SEC felt the conference’s two best quarterbacks were Hooker and Bryce.
Invited Bennett over SEC offensive player of the yr. A complete disgrace
F that award and Nissan for sponsoring it.
Because he QBd a team that lost two less games, that is all. Never mind any other rational considerations.
