Where/when do you guys think he goes? When do you think he deserves to be drafted?
Here is my take. He is our first QB that deserves to be taken in the first round in a very long time. I hope he goes to the Saints. Could yall just imagine Hooker and Kamara on the field at the same time?

It's January. Ryan Tennehill was a joke because he was a WR and then dropped into the first round after some discussions as a QB and on pro day he is looking like a top 5 pick. Trust me.. it's only January

Thats absurd. What? I don't see how thats even possible. Anthony Richardson will never be a better QB than Hooker and his ass is prolly going in the first round.
Maybe he hangs on and goes day 2, but I just can’t imagine burning an early pick on a guy who probably will be lucky to be running full speed by September.

RT was able to have a Pro Day...Hooker won't with the injury. That's going to hurt his draft stock.

He should be a day 2 pick, and likely will be with the news on his injury.

Honestly, his injury is gonna hurt him bad in the draft. His rookie year will basically be a redshirt-I doubt he sees the field in 2023 at all.

I doubt he goes before round 5-ish given that.

What happens after that as always will be up to him. We are seeing more and more later round guys come in and do well, so if Hook puts in the work and performs he will get his shot eventually.

He’s was a projected day two pick before the injury. The ACL and the offense that he played in at UT will hurt his stock.

Hooker is older, coming off an injury and will face some questions about if it was talent or the system he was in. FWIW I hope you’re right and he’s taken early but I don’t see it.

4th to 5th round. There are always exceptions, but Heupel QBs don’t draft well. They throw to wide open receivers and the NFL doesn’t have those opportunities. Hooker is also older and coming off an injury. He isn’t going to be drafted to be a guaranteed starter. He is going to be drafted to provide depth and compete for a job which he can’t do while injured. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him drop to the 5th or 6th. I say that because the knee is a concern and if the medicals don’t look great then who knows. Teams also get enamored with traits and that will hurt Hooker. Levis and Richardson are both terrible but have the tools to be great. Though I disagree with this style of drafting, teams keep gambling with young QBs hoping to hit gold.

Pretty sure Hooker will be 26 years old before he plays in the NFL. Most teams with interest would be fine with waiting to sign him on a free agent contract.

Somewhere in the range of 12 teams are without proven or solidified starters at QB for the upcoming season in the League, so I read recently. If that is so, it only takes ONE GM to be taken by Hooker's combination of skillset, consistent numbers, ability to process at snap, (and don't undervalue his quality as a young man) etc, to draft him higher than most think. No way does he fall below 3rd round, and I'm seeing snippets on YTube here and there that he could absolutely sneak into 2nd if he progresses favorably in rehab. ACL is largely considered a almost totally recoverable injury in this day.....again based on what you want to believe in your research. I'm saying Mid 2nd as my bold prediction! Go Hendon. Love and respect this guy and what he has done and what he stands for.

While you are correct you are not taking Hookers injury into account. When the combine hits, will he be able to throw? How is his movement going to be? I think his injury is going to push him deep into the 4th round.

Isn’t that funny/sad/interesting? I thought the whole point for receivers was to get open and yet everyone makes an issue because in Heupel’s system it is easy for QBs because receivers are always open.

It is, but most importantly it just demonstrates the immense skill and knowledge gap of college players and pro players. Most NFL teams can only run the same play once a week. Colleges run the same play five or six times a game. The NFL defenders are just too smart and the NFL scouting resources are so vast that the world changes.

Ryan Tannehill switched to QB from WR after his sophomore year in college. He passed for over 3700 yards and 29 TD his final year at aTm. He wasn’t a WR who “then dropped into the first round after some discussions as a QB.” He was being projected as a R1 QB during the season….a highly productive one.

I think he gets drafted in the 3rd round. He deserves to be a first rounder though. Maybe I am wrong but that’s just how I see it playing out.
