What he has done at UCONN is the greatest program building job in the history of college basketball. He took over a program with less basketball tradition than Providence and has now won more national titles than Dean Smith. He's one of the ten best all time. Period.

One of the greatest tacticians ever to coach.

A bad man.

He had any assistants go on to have success over the years? None immediately come to mind.

Leiato did well at Depaul and got wrecked at Virginia, he has a few guys coaching at low level d1 here in the region.

I think Kevin Ollie will be a good one someday.

Not really. Karl Hobbs and Dave Leitao had some decent years, but they're the only guys to get a shot above the low major level.

He also knows how to appease the 'AA when their investigators start sniffing around his program. Show the assistant coach the door.
