Hopefully that embarrassing loss galvanizes this team

If Heupel loses to this Florida team, how much will the temperature turn up on him?
People will be extremely upset. I dont think the majoirty will be calling for his head, but there will be a lot of heat and pressure.
Arkansas is a good team. They just had some bad breaks this season. Those receivers were second to none last Saturday.
and as UT luck would have it, their mediocre Qb had the game of his life.

He wasn't mediocre. Just inexperienced. Both of them were inexperienced.

Learn from it and move on, I know. But that’s another opportunity we won’t get back. Now, our path to a possible playoff spot is much more difficult. We do this crap to ourselves.

You did watch the game right? There's your evidence chief. Didn't team, same story for the 30+ years I've watched. Conservative play, 3 and outs, quarterback can't throw, gassed defense, mental mistakes and no player leadership. It just pours on when they are behind. That is a scared mentality.

Kind of what I expected as a response, "chief". Evidence of what, exactly? You didn't explain the connection this one game, that according to you showed "fear" and a QB who "can't throw", has to any UT team before this season, much less 30 ******* years ago when none of these kids were born and the coach was just out of college.

Hopefully, b/c we do not need to lose either of the next 2 games to secure playoff status. Heupel's a great coach, but that doesn't make him perfect. Mistakes were made and team didn't put the game away.

Wow, I hope you don't kiss your mother with that filthy mouth. It's not like I have charts and figures dude. I've watched Tennessee play for the last 30 years. I do hope they have a great season, but all I'm saying is the problems that they had Saturday night is the same problems they've had over the last several decades. Their post game comments are even the same. 🤷🏼 I hope they get it figured out before Florida. In the meantime, work on your manners and lay off the mean pills. Learn to respect someone else's point of view.

From championship contender to the coach being on the hot seat in one week. This place is a lunatic asylum.
College football is a results based industry, so I imagine if he loses to this craptastic Florida team, he will need to have some heat on him. It is year 4 in his tenure, not year 1 or 2 and going 1-3 versus the worst 4 years of Florida football is not what is needed for the Volunteer program.

Sorry about that, it just gets frustrating seeing these kinds of comments that make zero sense. No offense, but please explain the slightest thing that anything this team does has to do with anything that has gone on in previous years, much less 30 years ago. Coaches, players, administration - everything is completely different. It's like saying "well we lost to this team three straight times in the '90's, so we're going to lose today". It's completely meaningless.

At the very least it might force the AD into having to fire Heupel's Assistant buddies and replace them with coaches who have had SEC experience.

I think there will be a strong evaluation of his assistants and see where the weak links are.

I totally get the "what have you done for me lately" deal in high level sports, but thankfully it's primarily a fan and media thing.

Given where this program came from when White and Heupel got here to where it is today when we're just beginning to get back to a depth level to be able to seriously compete, it's absurd to even consider making a change at this point, and I'd bet it hasn't even entered DW's head at this point.

To change coaches at a place like UT would require going back to square one with recruiting, staff building, and team construction. You're talking about another 3-5 year plan. This isn't fantasy sports or Alabama, where recruiting is already built in. The idea is so ridiculous to even contemplate.

If this team somehow goes 7-5 this year and loses some recruits then gets off to a rough start next season, then start having that conversation. But right now, at 4-1 after one tough road loss in the conference? Please stop.

Worth noting that Green’s struggles were over that stretch that they were on the road.

I was worried about the game immediately after the OU game. Now, after the offense looking not stellar at all against ARK, I am worried about the rest of the season. Oh, yeah and Vandy will be as pumped for UT as the were for BAMA.

Can't see everything on TV but I am wondering if the receivers are not getting open. I mean when Nico actually had time.
I’m getting the feeling it’s the same issue as last year. WRs aren’t getting separation

It wasn’t an embarrassing loss and it was always going to be a difficult game on the road except to the Koolaid drinkers just like this Saturday will be
According to the 247 talent composite, we are 8th in the SEC and Arky is 14th. We were out played, out physicaled and out coached. We should have won easily.

It was absolutely an embarrassing loss.
