I agree, but we as fans see the 5 stars and one of the top players in the country and we start setting expectations. Sometimes the players live up to them (Eric Berry) and become legends and some flop and become terrible players (Chris Donald). I think most everyone expected him to come in and be a 20 point a game type player and a type of player that can take games over.
Yeah, people don't always realize that some kids are rated on what they are now and others on their potential. Some kids develop when they are 16, some when they are 20. Plus, you have factors of competition, high school coaching, etc., so the learning curve is different for everyone. Hell, I remember being pretty underwhelmed by Vince Carter his freshman year and he was an absolute stud in high school (Type "Vince Carter high school" on YouTube and be dazzled).
Scotty has more upside than anyone on this team and that's what will get him to the NBA if he can improve his handle and consistancy in the off season.
