Larry Marshall's been advising him and covering his expenses since before he arrived in Knoxville.
Larry Marshall is an idiot then. Should've taken about one season of watching him play in college to see that Hopson will never play in the NBA

4 points in an NCAA tournament game

I dont think I've ever hated a player who played for the school I cheer for, but Scotty has always been a little soft punk. Have fun in Czechoslovakia, you won't be in the NBA

A little soft punk who was the best player on our team and 1st team all-SEC.

Hopson hasn't went to class since the end of March start of April. His mind was made up in about February?

There really are some immature punks on here. Good luck hop. Is just ball. Take your 6 or 7 figures in Russia for a few and tell some of these UT fans to suck it. Yeah his lack of play frustrated me too at times. Grow up.

Good luck. This is certainly his best chance to get in the league.

The good news is our basketball team is going to have to play team ball this year. The bad news: that equates to not having any playmakers.

Hey let's accuse our school of violations that could further bury the program we love on a public message board.

he is leaving. hence, no violation. he is no longer a student athlete at ut and is free to do whatever he chooses to do

My dislike for him is about 99.9% the way he carries himself off and acts entitled. I could write a novel about the POS punk he is and none of it has been done to me but I've witnessed.

I guess the "Vol for Life" thing only goes one way, huh? He owes us his everlasting gratitude and loyalty, while you refer to him on a UT b-ball message board as a "POS punk". Nice.

so glad hopson is staying in the draft he just hurts us. I played against him in high school and we shut him down he only had 9 points and fouled out by the 3rd quarter. Our guy guarding him was smaller and had 35. He was not an all-american and never lived up to the hype. Harris i will miss he was all he was hyped up to be. Harris would of helped us be top 25 team next year. Thank you scotty for staying in and now we dont have to worry about him dribbling off his leg every time down the floor.

Good luck Scotty. We appreciate you being here.
That said, I am tired of some of the kids coming to school to get an NFL or NBA degree. I would love to see the rules changed so either you never come to college, or you stay all 4-5 years and at least try to get a degree before you leave. This early entry stuff is terrible. It makes a mockery of the term student-athlete. There are a bunch of people out there who never care at all about college - they just use it as a minor league training ground before they decide to jump. At least Brandon Jennings went straight to Europe. Oh well, venting does help a little.....

Good luck, Scotty.

Dumbest fan base in America.

Yeah, we're all dumb for expecting consistent production from a former 5-star Mr. Basketball who still, after his Junior year is complete, still can't split defenders on a fast break, is lazy on defense, and doesn't pay attention to the lightning-quick PGs running up his @ss when he actually gets a fast break, stealing the ball from him. Yeah. How childish and dumb of us to think that....

Thank you for your wealth of insight with your 37 magnificent posts and contributions to the board.
