Hopson Staying In The Draft.

Yeah, we're all dumb for expecting consistent production from a former 5-star Mr. Basketball who still, after his Junior year is complete, still can't split defenders on a fast break, is lazy on defense, and doesn't pay attention to the lightning-quick PGs running up his @ss when he actually gets a fast break, stealing the ball from him. Yeah. How childish and dumb of us to think that....

Thank you for your wealth of insight with your 37 magnificent posts and contributions to the board.
It's that hard to congratulate a guy that was an above average contributor for three years while representing the University well?

What on earth? It is now a violation and gets a post deleted to point out that the op is an uncredited repost from zagsblog?

So if Scotty gets drafted we will have 2 first round picks off of last years team?

BTW: Having UT players in the NBA is a good thing, not bad. We have enough wings and guards next season, we will miss Harris more than Scotty.

Anyway, I am actually hoping he gets drafted and wish Scotty the best.

Good luck, Scotty.

Dumbest fan base in America.

+1

After reading some of the disrespectful and immature statements on this thread, I think I've gotten a little dumber too.

Thanks for choosing UT, Mr. Hopson, and good luck with your shot at the NBA.

Apparently. The guy helped us get to the Elite 8 for the ONLY time in UT history, and gets grilled for not measuring up to adolescent fantasies of some kids on here.

What's funny is that had SH had injury issues as a sophomore or freshman in HS and ended up being ranked a 3*, the same folks would have grilled Pearl for loading up on sub-par talent and then marveled at his work ethic and intensity that helped him become a major contributor.

Actually I am glad for Coach Zo to start it all over again with a different culture and style. He just needs to sign a big that can play defense and rebound and we might be OK next season.

I agree. I hear that Coach Martin has been handling the workouts like a drill sergeant. I really think that's what this team/program needed. I loved Bruce Pearl, but I really think he was getting a little too "loose" with his discipline and it carried over to the games. Even though I think we are in for a really tough season next year, if Martin can sign Stokes and a couple of other studs in the 2012 class, he can get us back to being an NCAA tourney team in 2012-13. We're going to have to be patient next season...

I don't think he is first round material this year or next. That said i wish him all the best. Hope he surprises us. Wouldn't be the first time an underachieving college went on to a good pro career.

The op wasn't an uncredited repost from zagsblog. Btw, it proved to be correct. Zagoria is legit

I guess the "Vol for Life" thing only goes one way, huh? He owes us his everlasting gratitude and loyalty, while you refer to him on a UT b-ball message board as a "POS punk". Nice.

When will people realize that this "Vol For Life" thing has nothing to do with our basketball team......

Only if the person who points that out is a moron. Why, did that happen to someone?

Adam Zagoria posted his story at 1:26. Anyone with an internet connection could read it. Some people have been pretending to have insider status for quite some time. Often predictions like "there is no way tennessee gets tobias harris, he is staying in the big east" coincide with what is written on zagsblog.

If Hat is in fact Adam Zagoria he is a better writer than I thought.

My dislike for him is about 99.9% the way he carries himself off and acts entitled. I could write a novel about the POS punk he is and none of it has been done to me but I've witnessed.

I've spent some time around Scotty, and I have always found him to be mild mannered and respectful, seemingly a very nice guy.

Have you ever considered that the problem might be you?

I am actually glad to see him gone. i was tired of him hanging his head all the time. not to mention his inconsistent play. But his Scoring will be missed.

I never like losing the best player on the team. Ever.

He just wasn't a 5* player. He came in, worked hard, and just wasn't that good to begin with. Had he been a high 3*, low 4*, people would talk about how he worked hard become a 1st team all-SEC player. But that wasn't the case. I am happy how Scotty played his junior year, and while there were lapses, he was our best player throughout the year, and I appreciate that.

Good luck sticking in the NBA Scotty.

It says on your profile you are 40. So unless you are the creepy old dude that still hangs around college kid then you've never spent time around any of the athletes being themselves. Anyone can put on a front for 5 min.

You post like a guy that tried to tag along with some athletes and it didn't work out, or you didn't fit in. It's ok. It's not your fault, Will. It's not your fault.
