why anyone would condone; let alone celebrate this type of blatant political use of subpoena power is beyond me. It is exactly the reason government should have less power.
A better question is why would he continually promise to release his returns when he knew full well he had no intention of doing so....think about it. The answer may surprise you.

Oh, oh, I got another.

If you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor.

This is fun, care to give us an Obama promise LG?
That's a classic, and not over used in the least.
In hindsight he should have said "if you like your doctor. 98% of you will be able to keep your doctor."

Funny how this has never been an issue the last 40 years.
Good choice on “40 years” since it wasn’t done at all before Carter. And it isn’t an issue this time you idiots are just using it to conflate. Again. You know... since Russia Collusion is a dry hole?

Exactly. The real issue here is that we have Mr. I'm-Better-Than-Anyone-Else in the White House.

How so? There is no requirement to release his returns.

Granted he should have just said "piss off, I'm not releasing them" from the jump but the house subpoenaing them sets a terrible precedent.

bad behavior by one person doesn't justify the use of subpoena power for political gain. here's something for you to think about - why are you okay with any number of abuses of power so long as they are aimed at the correct target? Sadly, I don't think the answer will surprise you.

Yeah he should have told them to piss off I agree. But he strung them along which is the politicians way. And here we are...3C024CEF-B161-4B73-8F46-857A9A3FBCB0.jpeg

Or be honest and say this will require some of you to give up your current doctor and/or plan. He knew it was untrue when he said it but also knew if he told the truth his legislation wouldn't pass - you want honesty from our leaders right?

Because Trump is a once in 300 year catastrophic anomaly. Power should only be abused during these once in 300 year events. Sort of like martial law, but only used 1/1000 as often.

Him repeatedly lying and not being held accountable is a far worse precedent.

Of course I do. I use to think we all did.
One of the reasons why Trump is so much worse, is because he lies to the American public so much more frequently.

Accountable for what? He's called out daily for anything that can possibly be construed as a lie.
Being held accountable would be forcing him to release his returns as he promised continually.

When the subpoena power is being used to get text messages you hope show a deep state you are giddy with anticipation.

When it is being used to force the President to honor a promise he made dozens of times, and to follow up with evidence and testimony that he engaged in bank fraud or tax evasion, you howl at the injustice of it all.

Show my giddy posts on the first.

Subpoena to force POTUS to honor a promise with the hope you'll find some evidence of a crime? You and Luther belong together - indignant fascists.
