How do the Vols want the rest of the SEC to play out?

I think he's saying that he would give Martin COY if that happened, but he's pretty sure that it's not going to.

I'm not saying that TN won't finish strong like the above scenario, I'm saying that Cal would still win it, IMO. CCM would definitely have MY vote if it panned out as above, but I have no vote, unfortunately.

i dont think he would if theres anyone that you could possibly argue giving it to. this guy has had some great year and never won the national coach of the year, and his first year in the sec was ridiculous and he didnt get it.

i think the voters realize what he has there and that coy should go to someone who achieves something that wasnt realliy expected. as i said, i fully expect if there is someone you can even argue as a candidate they will get it over cal.

It's almost like Cal would have a better grasp of it if his team weren't as good as they are. They're so far ahead of the rest of the SEC, that it makes UT's accomplishments seems bigger, if that makes any sense. I swear it does in my head haha.

Nah, I get what he's saying. What he means is that since UK has such great players and high expectations, them winning all but two is not extremely impressive, though a big accomplishment. Whereas we are Ickes to finish 11th in the SEC, but we are making a push for a top five (or two the cards fall right) and therefore it makes our accomplishments HUGE in context.

so like even though UK is finihsing 1 and undefeated it seems like UT accomplishment is actually much bigger because they did more with less???

i get what you're saying, if that is indeed what you were saying haha

That's essentially what I'm saying. Since There were high expectations for UK to finish 1st, and they did, it's not really shocking. However if we finish 2nd, while we were picked to finish 11th, our coach must have really had an incredible impact on our team.

gotcha. and to me that is what coach of the year is about, but then again recruiting is part of coaching.

if martin got a 2 or 3 seed and i had a vote itd go to martin

Recruiting is important, and from my vantage point, CCM landed a stud mid-season which has helped us get where we are.

Updated. We're in a 4-way tie for fourth. Not looking as promising as it did when I first made this thread. Oh well, I still love cheering for UT. GO VOLS!!!

Not so fast my friend!!!

Candy currently losing at uga. If they lose today we are one game back of them for 3rd and they still have to go to rupp and play Florida. If they lose at rupp we would hold the tie break with them if we beat them and were tied.

Nobody 3-7 really seems to want to establish themselves. I may be crazy but with the remaining schedules if we win out I think we get 3rd place.

Edit: you updated the OP my bad. As for cheering for/against Florida, cheer for them we need them to beat Vanderbilt. Also, they win out and we look much better with those 2 wins.

I can't start a thread yet but I wanted to ask a question about TBA. I'm planning on taking my girlfriend to her first Vols basketball game vs Vandy and my second one. I'll be driving down from Lexington. My first game was when Chism dropped his career high on USCjr I sat in sec 310 and the game was a little hard to see. I'm on stub hub and see sec 321 and 113 available. Which would be better tickets?

It's all preference my man. Some people prefer endzone some prefer corners and some prefer sideline. Personally unlike being on the sideline and preferable lower level. If you can get less than 10 rows in the upper deck those aren't too bad either. I'll log on stubbub and see what I see to try and help ya.

What are ya looking to spend?

Holy john Jenkins, way to shoot down that idea.

Like it was stated earlier if Tennessee finished second, CCM should be coach of the year and I agree, picked to finish 11th and getting 2nd is huge. It's more about proving people wrong then proving people right IMO.

I also think John Jenkins should be SEC POY, I know Davis is in contention for national player of the year, but i mean c'mon. Dude has led the SEC in scoring for 2 years in a row. Also, if you take AD off Kentucky and JJ off Vandy, who hurts more? I would go with Vandy.

Just would like y'alls thoughts

Looking forward to March 3rd!

Thanks man! I prefer sideline, I would like to keep it under $75 per ticket if possible.

that question is a hard one. IMO this is how i see each team without jenkins and davis...

vandy- still not top 25 atleast 10 losses ncaa 9seed
UK- top 10 team atleast 5 losses ncaa 3 seed

but you also have to account how far a drop off that really is. vandy its only a 2 loss difference and 2 seed drop off. uk its a 4 loss difference and a 4 seed dropoff.

wow, those are sky high on stub hub. im gonna give you 2 bits of advice:

1. when using stubhub keep an eye, people always start tickets high and as the game gets closer they continue to drop them.

2. if tickets stay around that price just come to the game and buy off a scalper. i will almost guarantee that you can get sideline lower level for less than $50 a pop. worst case scenario is it's a good showing and tickets are going high, you still would get upper sideline for no more than $30.

i would definitely keep an eye on stub hub in the days leading up to the game, but unless they drop alot im gonna suggest just buying from a scalper. i bought tickets last week 2 in the lower level about 15 rows up behind the UT bench for i believe 40 the pair.

i also remember someone saying they got lower level UK tickets for around 20 a piece as well from scalpers. you kind of suffer a catch 22 with scalpers though, you want to get your tickets and get in, BUT the closer it gets to game time the more prices come down.

Thanks man you have been nothing but helpful since I've been on this board. I think I'll try my luck with the scalpers. So you think I can get lower level for under $150?

bro for 150 id say you could sit sideline dead center court may 2 rows up. im gonna guess you can get sideline lower level for the vandy game for under 50 each.

yea man, like i said worst case scenario is say tickets just shoot up like crazy you wont spend more than 50-75 for LL sidelines, and could go upper deck sideline for 25-30 for lower rows in upper deck.

should have no problem finding great seats in your price range. also, shop around a little and dont take asking price you can almost always get about half asking price. pefect example the tickets i got last week he wanted 35 a piece i told him 40 for both and he finally came down to it. but there will be multiple right by pratt pavilion at the entrance ramp up to TBA, and just ask around to see what each has and what they want. you can play the card of, well this guy has really good seats but is a little high, can you beat his price.

have fun with it, i always do. and like i said its a catch 22, if you wanna get in early to watch warm ups you'll pay more. the closer you're willing to get to game time the more nervous they are and want to sell them so the cheaper you'll get them as well. then again though, they may have sold some of their better tickets. personally, i try to buy around 30-45 minutes prior to the game.
