Scale of 1-10

I grade him an 8.

Positive-
Passionate.
Play calling.
Leadership
Does not make excuses.
--------------
Negative

None to speak of. Perhaps a bit unprepared for the Oregon debacle.

Nobody has been fully prepared against Oregon. I do agree with your grade. Butch has coached most of the Dooleyisms out of the players. It's all I ask for besides a bowl game. It would be a 10 if he upsetted UGA.

He gets a 9 from me. Recruiting is excellent, the team has more fight, and second half adjustments have been good. Also, Palardy and special teams improvement is his doing as well, IMO.

Bajakian and Jancek get 7s. The D is much improved but still not "good", and the O is improving as Worley and the receivers get more comfortable.

I like this coaching staff.

Who has been prepared for Oregon?

This thread is pointless. Mid-season gradepoint? Let's be honest. I think we can stop at the fact that TN played it's best ballgame in years 2 saturdays ago.

That should be your mid-season grade. We competed.

This is about how I feel.

For the majority of the season he gets a 7 from me. (Leaving Peterman in FL for so long was costly + Oregon)

But he gets an extra credit point for having the boys ready to win against UGa

So 8

An 8???? I would say 6-7 range. An 8 would be ok if we beat UGA and USCe.

Grades are subjective. Wins and losses are set in stone. I like Butch, but he still needs more wins. Headed in the right direction, but still a long way to go.

Read on College Football news that the writer considers him one of the up and coming coaches. Noted that Southern Cal should look at him. Interesting that some on here think the jury is still out.

Wow, that its a surprise! A thread judging how well CBJ is doing after a few games coaching and taking over a train wreck. Lets give him a few years before we start questioning the Coach. No coach is going to have magic pixie dust to sprinkle about and immediately take the program back to dominance.

How can anyone subtract pts because we didn't beat UGA?

CBJ didnt drop the ball diving for the end zone, but he did put us in position to win the game.

Well, considering that he hasn't won an SEC game yet, struggled to beat South Alabama, and had the biggest loss in program history to Oregon, I'm going to say that everyone giving him 7s and 8s are being rather generous.

Why on earth would you think the jury isn't still out? Because some random uncredentialed writer said he was "up and coming"? Seriously? There are hundreds of coaches who will be described as such this year. I remember when morons tried to sell that line with Dooley. Insanity.

Yeah, he's won conference championships or shares of conference championships at his previous two stops. That hardly makes it certain that he will succeed in the SEC. I hope he does, but people like you, who think everyone should just accept that he will be a success as if it were a foregone conclusion simply amaze me. What has he accomplished here so far that any average coach would not have?

Still hard to grade.

I'm not feeling the media sizzle that Kiffin brought buy I'm admittedly not paying as much attention this year so maybe I'm just missing it.

With the unusual amount of instate and legacy blue chippers graduating in 2014, the only way we weren't going to have a great class was if they'd let Dooley stay another year and we had another losing season under him. Hays not in the barn and I'm not about to count unhatched chickens with this program.

We've won the games we were favored in and lost the rest so I guess that's a middle of the road stat.

I'm nowhere near an anti, I just need to see more before I can opine in a learned fashion.
