How good will NC State be?

If we are on our back to the top we will win if we lose it will be a long year in the BIG ORANGE COUNTRY. What does ever body else think. Give me some feed back. Go BIG ORANGE

It will be a tough game. I feel the same way about this one that i did about Cincinnati last year. The fact is, UT is not good enough to overlook anybody, and if Dooley allows this team to overlook NC State, it will just go to prove that he sucks.

How good is NC State? Not as good as Bama, Florida, Georgia, SC, or MSU. The Vols lose and Dooley is in big trouble early.

I don't think they are world-beaters either, but I think you are underestimating the difficulty in installing a brand new D on the road against a decent offense. I also think you may be overestimating the impact a guy like C Pat will have on a game after only 3 weeks of practice....he's a true freshman in terms of the playbook. Just my opinion, bro. Never personal.

It's all good, I don't take things personal on here. After last season, I can understand people having reservations about this team but I just think they are gonna be the total opposite of what they were last season. As far as Patterson goes, from watching his vids to hearing coaches rave about him, I think he can be a game changer. If he was coming in as our #1 receiver, I wouldnt be as high on him, but with Da'Rick and Hunter on the field, he is gonna be open a lot.

Congratulations, you can read.

But the inverse of that logic would mean we have a chance to beat Alabama if we beat NCSU, which I disagree with...a lot.

Since you're throwing logic in there, try looking up the logical fallacy "the argument from incredulity".

That's why they play the games. If you think we have no shot, go fishing that weekend instead.

Thanks professor. Its called an opinion...get your panties out of a bunch.

Just because I think we don't have much of a shot doesn't mean its a definite loss.

Exactly why my response in the "Rate the Games in order of difficulty" thread was:

Game #1
Game #2
Game #3
etc
etc
etc

You don't think UT has a chance at all to beat Bama? That's the dumbest thing I've read in awhile. Unless of course you don't watch much football because upsets happen every weekend in the fall, especially when the favorite is on the road. Of course Bama will be heavily favored and they likely get the W but disagreeing that UT has a chance in that game isn't smart.

My roommate is a big NCST fan so I watched most of their games last year. They were pretty bad and should be worse this year than last. I'd be surprised if we don't win by 3 scores.

Spend lots of time in Raleigh for family and a buddy there is NCSU alum and has season tickets so I catch several of their games each year. Saw two NC State games last year - season opener against Liberty and mid season game against UNC.

It is obvious that NCSU does not have the same talent or depth (wow feels good to finally say that bout depth) as we do. They are extremely schizophrenic. When they play bad it is truly awful. Liberty game is a perfect example. However, they do have decent talent and when they get pumped up, they can go toe to toe with anyone. Clemson game is a good example.

This makes them dangerous. First game of the season is always risky as you are trying to figure out what you have and using new schemes. We should win and if they start like they did last year and we get up on them early, could be a rout. They tend to collapse when the going gets tough. But if we are flat and give them a pick 6 or two (their DBs are the real deal). We could lose.

I'll be there, just got tix today for my dad (NCSU alum) and myself. Should be a great game. GBO!

Oh, I'm quite aware that it was an opinion. I was disagreeing with your opinion that we don't even have a chance to beat Alabama.

And for the record, I'm uncomfortable with you thinking about my panties.

How good will NC State be? Not good enough to beat my Vols!!

However, if they find a way to beat my us, Dooley is done and the search will be in high gear for a new coach.

I say we will beat them by 17 points.

It's too early to be worrying about all this! I just hope the team feels the same sickness in their guts as I do when I even consider the prospect of losing to NCST!

if the Vols don't make it to the nc, i don't really care who wins it but i will root for whoever plays Bubba or UF if they're in it

Good thing for him that a statement doesn't imply its inverse then :good!:.

The contrapositive of "if we beat bama we probably already beat nc state" seeems much more reasonable.

I don't think NC State looked very impressive this Spring, but I expect them to be a lot better when Fall camp comes around in August. That being said, we will hopefully go down to the GA Dome and take care of business finally.

Thats what people said about ucla for two years in a row and we all know how that turned out.... Honestly, I think we win. However the lack of respect for this ncst. team worries me......a lot! But what do I know....I always get jittery when I don't think its a VOl win lock...:ermm:
