My girlfriend had never seen it, so we're in the middle of working our way through it on Netflix.

I only made it as far as season 8, partially because I heard how upset people were about the ending.

I feel ya. I'd actually never seen Friends before, so I've moved on to it here recently. While I like HIMYM a little better, it's a really good replacement.

Calling a show, "How I Met Your Mother" and only including the mother in 14 out of 208 episodes (all in the last season) is quite a tease... and just to underscore that Ted meeting his wife was never a matter of importance anyway - she (Tracy) dies of cancer at the end and he hooks up (seemingly for good this time) with Robin.

But it was a great show anyway!

But it was a great show anyway!

It'sa great title. It wasn't how I met your mother and raised two kids. It was the long journey for Ted to find true love. The heartbreak at the end simply saved the shoddy finale imo.

Both shows are two of my all time favorites. Coach Taylor and Barney Stinson are also two of my all time favorite characters, even though they couldn't bemore different. Also a very special place in my heart for Lyla Garrity. 🔥

I'm cruising through season 1. Lyla is a smoke show but annoying. Obviously some of the stuff is corny but I like it.

Completely random but Barney should have married Nora and Ted should have married Victoria (or the Slutty Pumpkin - though Katie Holmes would have been expensive as a regular cast member - and can you really marry someone you thought of as 'the Slutty Pumpkin'? Probably not... Forget I brought it up. He should have married Victoria.)
