a 4-1 record going into an open week ?
I was hoping for undefeated, but I seriously didn’t expect it.

This team CAN win every remaining game. Alabama and Georgia are not the juggernauts this year they have been in the past. I think we go 10-2 or 9-3 and win one of the big ones against either Bama or Georgia but have a clunker or two like Florida. If this team plays lights out they have the talent to win out and go to Atlanta.

Road games at Bama, Kentucky, and Mizzou will make it difficult to do better than an 8-4 team. Road game at UGA last year the team looked lost (UGA was an outstanding team). Road game at USC - well we all know how that ended. And that was with a much better team last year. I’m not super confident that this team can play well enough on the road to win more than 1 game our the those 3 rows games.

We do not control anything. We still need UF to get beat again

This won't be a problem......UF has several top 25 SEC teams left to play....including UGA. Florida is not good, we absolutely killed ourselves against them. Horrendous loss by our own hand. Hence why we fell from 9 to 22 in the AP poll because of it.

We lost to a bad Florida team on the road. Is what it is and I think their final W-L record will bear that out. Beating the Gamecocks was necessary at home. Important to hold serve against A&M at home. No SEC team looks unbeatable at this point.

So the logic is that we win all of our games against ranked teams and they lose all of theirs? Orange glasses much? I would love for that to happen but the logic is grossly flawed. They beat us, the reasons are irrelevant. They have to lose twice, first one was yesterday.

Gotta keep improving.

I’m just tired of the “woulda, coulda, shoulda.” It goes back to the Fulmer era as we lost to UF just about every time with only a few exceptions. Even Butch Jones’s had a season where everything was lined up to win the SEC East and this program found a way to come up short. That UF loss this year is going to look worse and worse as the season goes on and they continue to get exposed as a mediocre team.

But with a lot of football left to play, there’s still a chance to do something good. We haven’t seen much to inspire a lot of hope against really good opponents, especially on the road, but I suppose anything can happen.

Just stop habitually losing to chump teams when it matters.

To he// with UF. Go Vols!

It’s true we shot ourselves in the foot in Florida but the ref’s shot us in the other one for good measure.

No excuse for not being 5-0. We’ve played some awful football leading up to the SC game. Hope we can build on the momentum. Torturous stretch ahead.

We also have a huge psychological edge over UK. It’s a worse problem than our mental issues with Florida bc our issues are mostly limited to bad coaching and Gainesville whereas they’ve been dropping games inexplicably with a decent coach and solid teams on the road and at home.

Can always count on VolNation to be insufferable, regardless of the outcome of the game the night before. A lot of you folks love to wallow in misery. You're expectations were set too high after a magic year last year. 4 - 1, with plenty of football left to go, and a possibility to win the SEC, or more. Still plenty left to play for! Hyp has the boys winning games we would have lost under the old regime, where we would already be talking about tracking John Grudens PJ number. The future is even more bright. Go Vols!

Touche......they certainly made sure we stayed down on the mat. Watching a lot of these games this year (including a lot of No calls like holding and p.i. last night in ours) I'm seriously considering this conspiracy theory that the NCAA is narrating this season for dramatization and viewership. The officiating is horrendous.
